i put an enitre civic console in my 96. it was a tough install. the armrest part should be easy. also the neon gives you alot for a bit of trimming. this is the question you have to ask yourself....

"do I want real cup holders?"

Thanks for the reply. I want cup holders and armrest. need to know years and models. Hoping for some more feedback and advice. I know there has been write-ups before on this subject but over time people find better things and ways and like to benefit from their experience. Thanks in advance for any feedback.

perfesser's neon install

my civic install

now i used a 98 and 99 to get all the pieces i wanted for the civic install. i did put a bit of the trimmed plastic back on so it doesnt look ass bad as the pics. it seems the neon is the best fit for an oem look. the only trimming on that is on the bottom to fit the floor pan curves.

if i had to guess i'd say youre looking for a neon console. i havnt heard about anyone doing anything else

I installed a 95 neon console in my '91 'Vert. Be sure you get the shift lever boot from the Neon. It took all day just goofing around. Once you get the bottom of the new console cut to fit it is fairly easy.

I wanted as much 'accelerator foot room' as possible so I also moved the front end 1/2 inch to the right. A little more complicated but well worth it.

If your 91 has the LSI extra lower center console box it REALLY works out nice. If you don't have that box I would encourage you to get one before you start the console install.

Here is Mancuso's "How To" install that I went by:

thanks for the info keep it coming. I don't have the LSI Center. its going to be a challenge to find a Dodge Neon with a manual trans in my area due to the traffic everyone loves autos.

LSI center box is a bolt on accessory. Might get lucky and find one in a Junkyard.

Automatic neon console will work, just have to Jerry-rig the Geo shift boot in place.
