Yea. It wasn't to tight going on but had to walk it in with the bolt. The good new is although the seal I originally got with the engine I pulled out with my fingers, the first one I replaced it with was tighter but not by much, unlike this one which was so tight it fought me to get it flush withe the oil pump case. Hopefully this means it's there to stay, and I will be monitoring it closely. If it does I will be re ringing this engine in the car in December . At least I know the seal is good to go. If not I will will go through the original engine. So far I have been putting 4200 miles a month on my car for the last two years. Original engine became tired at 230,000 miles and multiple owners, one valve was beginning to burn. So I threw I this one, low miles, perfect bore, and put 40,000 hard miles on it. Now I will be driving 5000 miles a month. So hopefully this thing don't leak on me in the middle of nowhere |

So far soo good, no leaks, crossing my fingers. The lifters had been clacking since the oil light was flickering from running low ... I found even though they seemed to work upon inspection 6 months ago ('I had to loosen a few with trans fluid ), they just found themselves stuck pluger stuck all the way in so they were just not able to pump back up. So I used the pinned thread on lifters as a guide, pulled them apart and put them in water and laundry detergent, boiled them for two hours, further cleaned them with sea foam , and reassemble. Awesome! Sucker is quieter than it's ever been! |

I personally do the cam seal cap mod on any I pull apart. A small metal file works wonders for enlarging the drainback. I feel that this is a defect in the design of this part and having the seal pushed up against it can block the hole. Any excess RTV plugging this or any other passage and you will have problems. That being said, I would still carry an extra 5 quarts or so of oil in case you have another leak. Odds are it will be fine but I would do this just in case for a while. Conor |

I have in mind to Cary a couple cheap gallon jugs of oil for awhile just in case.. I have a 240 mile round trip to do 5'days a week.. I am ordering a cam from 3 tec as soon as I get paid, as long as othe bull shit doesn't keep coming up, I will enlargen the groove then.. It was clear when I assembled it after I did the lifters. I can always limp home if it pisses oil |

I thought so-it came out when I was trying to install the oil pump and it is hard to put back in when the seal is already driven into the pump |
