jack of all trades, master of two

I have numerous brands available to purchase, but no ''real world'' input from the sellers( or buyers )side, as to what options I would need, use, or ignore.... :banghead lots of options out there.
price range is not really an option, I will not be using it to make money, but rather maintain the fleet of vehicles at work. mostly ford and chev/gmc trucks, no imports or dodges. 3 IHC trucks, but those never throw codes.( just use lots of fuel :beer )
my current code reader is 10 years old, does not have abs, tpms, or drivetrain code capabilities. :( that's the problem I am running into now. I have a J-PRO for the big trucks, but that constantly needs updating to stay ahead of the game.
there are so many options out there, its easy to get lost in the info.
just curious what you pros use..... :news
