LA Awesome cleaner (the yellow stuff) from the Dollar Tree cleans better than anything I have found. Power steering fluid has additives in it to make the inside of hoses stay flexible and cleaning your black hoses with it gives good results.

PS fluid- that's one I have never heard about. I will have to give it a try!

Not bad at all! Looks better all around. Not show room quality by any means. But, if I was buying a used car, I'd take the second one over the first. Definitely looks more taken care of. Does this car sit under a tree? The firewall seems like gunk build up, maybe not just oil.
Actually it sits in my garage. I had never thought of cleaning the engine bay until last weekend.
But that "gunk" on the firewall was tough to get rid of! It took a little bit of strong scrubbing to
get most of that stuff off. Even then I still had some left on there. Round 2 this weekend tho.

I have had the car a month before i created a profile here. So it was LONG over due ha!
And please guys just call me Alex. Very nice tips guys. Will definitely try this out, maybe not
the midnight nude washing, as cleaning products can get in places they weren't meant too

How about some more pics of the car? We likes photos!!!

Of what I can see... another big improvement suggestion would be paint or powder coat the wiper arms. My sons looked like yours and swapping them out for some MetroMightyMouse freshly powder coated wipers arms made a major difference on the exterior, highly suggest it.

Very good idea! What brand/type of powder coat did you use?

Yeah guys, will definetly post more pictures soon. I need to get
my RH vent glass installed. Some punks broke into my car and
smashed the glass. Just bought the glass last week and installing
this weekend. Pictures soon...

P.S. it still runs :)

I had fellow member MetroMightyMouse powder coat them, I think it was like $30 but was part of a bigger order so not sure. He uses prismatic powders, shoot him a PM if interested. Swapping out the rusty wiper arms really cleaned up the exterior look.

We use a cleaner called Blue Gold at work.

It will cut oil and grease and it's not harsh on metals.

Actually now that i think of it. My brother in law works as a welder in a HUGE
gate company. They do powder coating and painting to the gates they make.
He has seen employees run personal items thru the long assembly line.
The biggest thing run thru there that belonged to an employee were a set of
rims. I dont think a pair of windshield wiper would be a problem.

If it turns out to be a problem, wiper arms are $30 plus shipping and I have a pair on hand that I can coat on an exchange basis for $10 more that is refunded when I receive your wiper arms back. Your choice on color but a 2 coat process is $20 more.

Also I like to Boil SuperClean and spray it on with pressure. This works the best for grease removal
How would you go about spraying this with high pressure?
well i was using it in my 'steam shark' but then it broke. i also mixed varsol and superclean i think it broke the pump :hmm
