Hi all! This is my very first thread in the Metro forum. I was introduced into the Geo world when my grandma gave me her Geo Prizm a few years ago. Now I love them all (even though the only thing they all have in common is the badge) and am acquiring a Metro. So my older brother has a 1990 Geo Metro 1.0 G10 with a 5-Spd manual . The car is pretty rough, but has no rust. The car's engine needs help. My brother bought the car for $300 with a faulty exhaust valve. Instead of rebuilding the existing head he decided to purchase a "rebuilt" one off of craigslist . When it runs the engine clicks like crazy. Sounds like the lifters clicking when the cam hit them. The car smokes like its burning oil. It doesn't burn any coolant. So, me being the Geo lover in the family, he decided to give it to me. IDK if I want to grab a motor from a junk yard, or rebuild the one I have now. What do you guys think? My brother also installed new lifters and they still click. Do you think I should dig into this car, or just pass? He lives a ways away and I don't happen to have picks on me either. |

Yup! I am already hooked! I learned how to drive a manual in this car when it ran healthier, too! |
