20 X 30 "carport" will be turned into a real garage + workshop after the building inspector approves the 'carport' and goes away.

"bones" of the structure is completed here:

completed exterior:

with the car and truck inside I will still have a 12 X 20 area for a workshop:

I am contemplating digging a "pit" and incooperating it with the concrete floor when I pour the floor.-----or maybe just buying a 'lift'.............

Hell of a lot of digging for the pit and a very deep ditch for the drain pipe to go 'over the hill' 50 feet away.

By the time I got done drooling over the first picture, it already had walls, then a roof, and doors... that was fast! :D

So what's the wife think about not having you working on cars "in the kitchen" anymore?

You know it's getting close when you think of how close you are to being over the hill in terms of feet instead of years. ;)

Looks great Joe. :thumb

What does every man with a very nice garage/workshop in the woods, on acreage, away from the wife house, next to a pond stocked with fish want?

A bigger garage/workshop in the woods, on more acreage, farther away from the wife house, next to a bigger pond stocked with more fish of course! Oh, and a few more Metros to keep in it. :D

Gotta admit I already had a great garage. Oversized one car, attached (part of the house, furnace heated, TV, Stereo, Phone, stand up workbench, sit down workbench, deep sink, Hot and cold water, drain in floor, (for washing/working on car in the winter) floor to ceiling shelving.

So why did I want another garage? I didn't. When I bought my 'Vert It took over the garage and the wifes new car had to sit out in 100MPH wind, rain, pine needles, spruce sap etc etc. ---- Last spring the wife said--"OK, fair warning, My car is going into the garage this fall. If you want your Geo under cover this winter you better start building."
