This is the kind of rust I'm looking at inside.. This is the most serious spot that isn't strctural, I think.

You can see some spots on the passenger side where I've ground off the bit of rust there. And some random black where I was playing with the undercoat stuff to see if the can would work :)

And some random very bad welding practice :)

Great job. It is funny that you live in Kamloops. I ended up spending a couple weeks up there once upon a time. Quaint, but the horse-fly's bite like crazy. Even floated the river that runs through the town there.. I wonder if a woman named Alice still lives there or her cousin Elizabeth.

Thanks :) I love that I'm finally at a point where non-car people can look at the car/photos and SEE that sh*t is getting done!

Most of the work until now has either been destruction ("Shouldn't you be putting it TOGETHER?") or tedious ("why are there 50 photos of these six wires?"), so having some visible YAY is quite nice :)

When ya get it on the road, it's gonna be a great feeling "non-car people" will never understand! Knowing your machine inside and out, the confidence of being able to fix it yourself, and the pride in owning a vehicle you have done so much work on......feelings the typical driver will never know!

So the white donor car made it out and we pulled the eng/trans today. The drivers side Axel came out in two pieces.. The three-bearing knuckle area, to the wheel end.. And a chunk inside the trans that we pried out easily once we pulled the engine.
I don't care about the Axel or the car but.. Wow? And the trans I need!!

I have to shut it off now or it will run and fill the garage with exhaust! ;)
Still a ways to go, but... it works!

Thanks!
As of tonight, it has a steering wheel, lights coming on in the guage cluster, and almost everything wired up. Tomorrow should lead to progress on the heaterbox, exhaust and maybe completing the stereo/dash wiring plan!
