I spent a good part of the day seeing if I could bring my paint back to life. Actually quite pleased with the results!

This is what it looked like a year ago when I towed it home. It was sitting there since 1998.

I've been buffing out cars for years but I have a really hard time getting the formula correct. Sometimes I can get a car back to showroom condition and sometimes it just looks like I waxed it a bit. What stuff did you use on your car?

Gotta start low and only use the more grainy stuff on bad pieces :'(

I used this stuff..... the rubbing compound was different from stuff I used in the past. It was creamy white and after you rubbed for a while it was like the abrasive qualities disolved. I did it all by hand and some places it took a few times to get it clean. Labor intensive do in it by hand for sure! That black chrome stuff worked great on the mirrors and grill area under the wipers.

LOL....My G/F has had ZERO interest in the Metro. But she was amazed to see how good it turned out. Now she wants me to do her Black 2010 Accord. I told her I would HELP her do it.... I hate Black cars.

Is it true that tooth paste has rubbing polish compounds in it that break down to smaller bits to micro polish? There is this pepsodent tooth paste I got for a buck and it's gross, wonder if I could buff something with it :hmm

Not "gel" type toothpastes; you're probably good to go if they talk about baking soda in it, though...
Also, Pepsodent, gross? :O You're mad! Pepsodent is delicious!
