Great thread! I too have wondered the meaning or origin of a few usernames on here... mainly Jato's and Melanie's (Mythstae, who posted on this thread, and not to explain her name choice, I might add). Mine comes from my old white car, which was a RHD converted car by the city of Los Angeles and used for Parking Enforcement. The rollerskate part referencing the car's size. I have thought about changing it, since I no longer have the car, but haven't yet, mainly for forum continuity so that folks know my background here and such. (Should I? And if so, to what?) My avatar is a gif crafted by 1.0smallblock that was part of a vid he made a little while back. Retired Air Force, hence where the plane comes in. Edited by 94RHDRollerskate, Sep 7 2014, 12:01 PM.

When I first wanted to get a metro due to the fact my brother had one and it got good gas mileage, I started looking for metro forums. After lurking around and reading some stuff about metros on here I was hooked and had to have one. Since you can't post on the forum without a user name I had to come up with one. The only thing i could think of that fit was freegeo. My brother gave me his metro after the rust issues got to bad. As far as my avatar, I bought a XFI cam from Matt on here and when I got the box it had Thanks! Go XFI on it. Thought it was kinda neat and unusual so I used it as my avatar. |

Thresher shark is a joke on the Mako Shark Corvette (some of the older members here--like me--may remember those). Mako Corvette: big, bad, hot rod. 3 cylinder Metro: not too big, not too bad, definitely not a hot rod. Mako Shark: big, bad, man-eater, and the fastest shark in the sea. Thresher shark: not too big (average size is about 6 feet), not too bad (to my knowledge, they have never even bitten anybody), average in speed. |

I have a hunch that there is not a lot of explanation for my screen name, but just in case, EV is not short for Everett. It is pronounced "E. V." A little browsing in the links in my signature will most likely reveal what the EV means. |

Wait, this should not be glossed over! so you are saying that your actual (middle) name as used by your grandmother IS literally "Little Geo?" If I am reading all that correctly how is that NOT the absolute greatest name for someone on this forum? yeah i've seen them. So you are saying EV stands for (most) Excellent Vehicles, right? Mine... no excitement or mystery here. I don't name my cars, and I sure as he__ am not going to try to name myself. And if I used the most common names my friends used to call me I would be in violation of forum rules.

I never really thought about it, but you are right- Metros are in fact Excellent Vehicles! I guess my screen name is a little redundant. |

Escape Velocity! I win!! Is this a test? Actually, this brings back a traumatic memory. I had a job interview for a truck company. It went OK. They gave me a take home test. One question was "What does H.P. stand for?" I kid you not. So I wrote down; Hewlett Packard, High Pressure, Hydraulic Pump, High-Performance, Horsepower and Holiday Pay. No, I didn't get the job. What does RV mean?... http://www.allacronyms.com/EV

Actually ev, i was more referring to the quality of your work than the relative qualities of the vehicle type! |
