Hey everyone! Name's Trevor, if you hadn't guessed already. I am 17 years old (yes a youngen), and am hoping to join this community along with my "new" '93 2 Door Geo Metro. I know close to nothing about vehicles and how they work, so I am probably going to be on here a lot finding things out, and learning my way around a car. This is the first car I have ever owned, and worked hard to get the $1700 it cost me to get it. Now in the world of Geo's I have no clue if what I paid was a reasonable price, but my budget was 2k and I spent less for a car that I have so far (about 4 weeks) had no problems with. I thought I might as well post some pictures of my geo (no name quite yet, plan on fixing her up a bit, and finding one that suits when the time comes). I just tried to include everything. Spoiler: click to toggle Of course I forgot to get any under the hood, but it's too dark out for that now. So please let me know if it was worth my money, and give any feedback! (Even if it wasn't worth what I spent, it can't really be undone) |

Welcome, Trevor! Looks like the desert sun in the Old Pueblo has had its way with your car. The body's in pretty good shape, apart from that door ding, and I'm assuming the underside is similarly rust-free. If the engine works and it shifts like it should, you didn't get hurt on the deal. Some parts will be more difficult to locate than others, but you need to spend the rest of your $2k on a good set of tools and start haunting the u-pull-a-part junkyards. I just replaced my seats for $25- each, for instance. (My old seats are in better condition than yours. Next time you're up this way, drop in and I'll give them to you! )Download the FSM (Factory Service Manual) from the site here and read it before you try anything. If you still have questions, just ask. I used to live out at Mission and Ajo years back before you were a twinkle. I love that town!!

Well I was pulled over for a windshield crack and got a Fix-it-Ticket $199 into that, but since I live with my parents the only bills I pay are my auto insurance and phone, all the rest of my money for the next year or so can go into this car! My dad was an F-16 mechanic (however he did not pass on any of the skills) for 11 years and has quite the toolbox. Just let me know what I should bring to the salvage yards, and I'm sure I can find the tools. For now I want to focus on: seats, passenger side interior door handle, and carpet. After that is all good and done, I will start after the rest of the car. Might start up a little project thread, since we're not really (I assume) supposed to talk tech here. Thanks for all the replies everyone! Edited by TrevorBreazeale, Sep 5 2014, 11:24 PM.

This is your thread- you can say pretty much anytjing within reason. However, if you want tech help, you are better off posting in the right forum section. We have 94 rollerskate down that way, and an apache junction active member. Welcome to the fun. The dash isnt that hard to get out- but- where you are, all the donors will be in similar shape. If you Like the shape of your seat- the metro seats of all years are a direct fit. Also suzuki swift and suzuki esteem seats to 2001. The carpet- can be fixed by replacing, or covered with a floor mat. Replacement handle is the least Of your problems with that door/window crank. There is a reason the handle came off- lots of Window help to be found here though. ![]() Welcome To your new forum. Good find in an area where cars arent cheaply found. Welcome to your new forum, TrevorBreazeale! Depending on the engine and, as mentioned, how it drives and shifts, I'd say you spent about market price for a good Geo. The car is marketed by Chevy. The Upper right corner: ![]() As you can see I got seat covers, cheap, eBay. I also got a bezel for my radio off eBay since I was 100+ miles from any junkyard. Like econoboxer says, you create a thread and we respect you and your thread. Moderators don't always read every post so if you have any problems let us know. Everyone should be playing by the rules.
