This restored metro vert convertible is being featured on Jalopnik's 'nice price or crack pipe' segment. Unfortunately, it looks like the $4000 asking price is going to result in a monumental crack pipe loss for the tricked out Vert. Take a look at the listing and see what you guys think. Make someone here is crazy enough to buy it!

"If, for you, the good outweighs the bad, then you'll want to take into consideration this Geo's four-grand in paint, as well as its two grand worth of wheels and tires, lowered suspension, and smoked lights at both ends. Those elements are all part of what's described as a partial restoration, although it's hard to see what else is left to be done on so tiny a car."

With over 1350 votes, crack pipe is ahead at 87.8%. $4k in paint on a car that's worth $3k max? Definitely a hallucinogenic dream!!

:doper :doper :doper I am with Perfessor on this one. It was probably a nice vert before it got screwed over by the seller. Where is the VeeDub, "I'll unpimp your ride" guy at when you need him.

Also, with its top down and that push bar-like spoiler on the back, it could be easily mistaken as a shopping trolly and appropriated by a homeless person.
:rofl :rofl :rofl

Who tries to sell a Metro for 4,000 and doesn't even post pictures of the interior and or engine on the CL ad?

-$500 for bad sellermanshipnissity.

Stars and flowers and unicorns would have been cool. But not these ugly stripes. -$1,000 for totally screwing up the nice clean simple Vert style.

That spoiler will create a heck of a lot of drag at that angle. -1,000 for all the extra gas you'll have to buy becasue of it.

I think there are no engine pictures because there is no engine. -1,000.

How many miles? Doesn't say. I guess the new rolled back cluster/odometer is one of those "almost completely restored" items he is still waiting on - then it will be new like a GJ engine new. -500.

Now it's down to $0, since you usually get what you pay for, how good can it be if it's free?

I'll pass, but someone in Portland can go look and report back on the "complete restoration" process? :thumb

Ah hell, it's not in Portland, It's in Longview WA. :smackface I might go see it if it's still up on the weekend. I used to live over towards where it is supposedly located. My town has a bit of a meth reputation, perhaps someone was :stoner

If someone in that area can go investigate and report back I'm sure we would all be interested to know what exactly is going on with this car.
