Hey guys. I am new to these forums. I found them on Google when I was searching for diagrams for my car. Okay I will try to make my story quick and painless. So I am really dumb when it comes to cars. I have a 1996 Geo Prizm (4DR) and I had a leak in my gas tank. I had a friend of a friend help me replace the gas tank with one I had purchased. Well after it was done, there was still a small leak under the car. The dude said something had stripped when he put the gas line back together and that it was an easy/cheap fix but he would come back the next day and do it because it was real late and no auto parts stores were open. Well the next day came and he ended up getting locked up and I got stuck with this mess. I took two pictures and circled the area where it is leaking. What I need to know is what piece I need to fix this leak? I went to Napa and showed them the pictures and the guys were dumbfounded. Told me that they recommended this fuel line repair kit that had a piece of fuel line in it and a gold metal connector piece that something screwed in at both ends but they said they did not know for sure by looking at the pictures I took. I can take more but I figured I would come to one of these forums and see if anyone could offer up some extra information on what piece I need to fix this leak and if someone knows of a Youtube video out there that may help me understand what this piece is and how to replace it? Any information would he very helpful at this point. Thanks for reading and I appreciate any help I do get!![]() ![]() Edited by SmokinBull, Sep 10 2014, 08:49 PM.

This is a Geo Metro forum. Lots of smart dudes in here and some one might chime in with some advice but a Geo Metro is a Suzuki. Your Prizm is essentially a Toyota Corolla. You might get some tips, have better luck in a Corolla forum or looking up info for a Corolla of the same year as your Prizm. |

That's not a simple fix. Parts stores don't have what you need. If those are indeed cross threaded your only easy option is to replace the line. Those are flare fittings. He really screwed you if those are damaged. The repair kit Napa tried to sell you is for nylon (hard black plastic) fuel line found on newer vehicle. It won't work with steel lines.
