Keep us posted as to how it goes. I'm gonna be tackling mine soon. Hopefully with the help of forum member Convertable in Yancyville. He has done many of them and has generously offered his assistance to show me some tricks. Good Luck hope it goes smoothly for ya!

Well, I got 'er done, but I think I need to do some tweaking (that is tweaking - NOT TWERKING)

What the heck are these rubber bumpers - there are six of them: are they after market BS?

Drivers side has a gap up top - What did I do wrong?

Passenger side is the same.

I need these seals for both sides.

The top is real tight on the sides behind the doors and in the rear, but loose up front. I followed the directions list in the link??? :banghead :'( :( .

I'm planning on going to Lowes tomorrow and getting some different hardware for the back part of the top.
The bolts are ones I reused from removing the old top and I think stainless steel would be better w/hex head.
...again-those rubber bumpers look weird to me, but hey! at least I've got a new top on it.
:P ^o)

Kudos to you for tackling that job! I got as far as sliding those covers off the top of the quarter panels and spraying those rusty looking little fasteners with pentrating oil. I cringe at the thought of getting temperature loose! I ordered a canvas top and it should be in any day now. Did ya strip a lot of fasteners taking the old ones out?

Nope.
I think I either striped or broke one of the bolts in the rear, but I just don't wanna look at it right now.

I don't remember - I got it like 2.5 or 3 years ago. It was probably around $160. It is vinyl on the outside, but looks to be canvas on the inside.

I thought as much, but with as tight as it is right now there in the rear, I wonder if I can remove them and still screw down the bolts. I PM'ed Old Man for the installation guide. I hope to figure out where I went wrong.
