Hello, I thought I was alone in my love of keeping metros alive untill I found you all here. I really could have used your advise through the years instead of figuring things out the hard way on my own, but I'm glad I've found you now.
I started my Geo journey when I purchased a brand new 2 door 1.0L 5 speed in 1991. It was red and the only option it had was a rear window defroster-no radio no nothing. It was my first brand new car and I loved it. About 1996 we bought a used 2 door 5 speed 1.0L for the wife and we had his&hers metros. The new style was out by that time but we considered them too big and fancy. I think hers was a 1993. We found out the hard way that the subframes rust out and fail on the 1993 and ripped the front wheel/axle on the passenger side. I kept it around for parts and kept the 1991 running until it reached 200,000 miles and sent them both to the junk yard (still running) sorry. a few years later in 2005 gas prices started climbing out of sight we got a low mile 1994 black 4 door automatic 1.0L this was passed down once the kids started driving and later zebra striped. When we had three kids driving I bought a 1992 silver 4 door automatic 1.0L only because the frame was unrusted. Anyway I'm much better with a 10mm wrench than a keyboard and all this new flanged photobucket URL business but I'm gonna try and post some photos. My name is Will, and I live in Alliance, Ohio not too far from our Mulleted Master.
