Got these for Christmas...

Kind of nice to finally have real cupholders.

Kind of a tight fit, but that means it isn't going anywhere.

Also got some Kicker 4" speakers, but nothing can go in until some of my wiring under the dash is repaired/replaced :shake

Went to grab something out of the car this morning, that went well...

Replaced the driver door handle and the first time I go to use the inside door handle after putting everything back together, it breaks... :banghead
...on to replacing door handle #5 :lol

Also discovered that part of the rubber in the driver's window track was just chillin in the bottom of the door. That explains why my window was so loose going up and down. It's a bit better now, but could be a little smoother and it is still a little loose. For now though, it will have to do.

Been a while, but replaced the timing belt a couple months ago and today I washed and vacuumed the car. Started detailing it, rubbed out the driver's door and fender.

Also decided to empty out the bottoms of the fenders...should have done that before winter :shake

Going to order a new catalytic converter soon...38-41 mpg stills seems a little low for the driving I do and the car frequently smells under acceleration and going up hills.

Thanks. Hoping to get my first metro back on the road (red 4 door on 1st page) so I can keep this one nice and out of the salt. 'Bout killed me to drive the thing this winter. I really want to get to the electrical soon. I miss my high beams and intermittent wipers...and I really want to get that CD player in now. Also want to get the A/C working again, but one thing at a time. Can't believe I've already put 15,000+ miles on it. I guess I'm really enjoying this car myself, but I haven't driven it as much this week, weather has been warming up and finally broke out the bike. :rocker It's a 1983 Yamaha Virago XV500.

Also forgot that I pulled the old radio this week to look closer at the crappy wiring...I've seen worse on here, but this still sucks.

The car has now been named Snowball. Seemed fitting as it's arctic white and has kind of snowballed into a bigger project than anticipated :smackface

Got the new catalytic converter (Walker 55108) on Tuesday. Ordered it last Sunday from Summit racing.

Off with the old...

On with the new...

I can't say that the car has tons more power, but the power is more accessible, no more bogging down and it no longer smells. Also did another compression test today after new cat...compression is now 185 on all 3 :thumb

The red 4 door on the first page is going to have to go now because my dad just picked this up...

Interior pic from ad

Its a 1999 Swift with 5 spd, 176,000 miles, newer paint, minimal rust, and a hatch cover. :rocker Currently not running...may start separate thread for this one...

Quick shot of the camshaft...or at least part of it anyways :x

Aaaaack! Are those bearing surfaces as badly scored as they look like?

I believe that will require a new head and cam.

Yep :shake We'll have to see how the bottom end looks too since the car does have 176,000 miles

My dad only paid $600 for the swift so in the end he won't be in it too much. Dad and I spent about 9 hours at the junkyard Friday and Saturday because of a half price sale... :whistle

Picked up some good stuff off a 2000 sedan with 123,000 miles

These are for Snowball

Windshield washer sprayers are nicer and my originals were pretty faded
Posted Image

Old ones...
Posted Image

Also pulled the engine for the swift

Driver and passenger mirrors with levers and a like new headlight

Weather was nice today so car got a little love. Finished rubbing it out, put on a coat of wax.

That just leaves the interior for its yearly cleaning.
