that switch that you said you thought it was cruise controll, its not its the AC cut off so when you floor it the ac pump will turn off temporarly.
Ok, that makes more sense and now that I think about it, the 94 that our cruise system came from had air too. Thanks.

Also thanks for all the compliments.

Well got the dash back in last week Sunday, and the CD player in the next morning. 4" Kicker 40CS44 in dash.

Have Kicker 41DSC6934 6x9s in back in cheap speaker boxes for now. Haven't decided if I'm going to make a hatch cover or not yet. Still sound pretty good compared to what was in the car when I bought it.

I realized my intermittent wipers still weren't working... :smackface this might explain it :lol

Now they work :whistle

Forgot that my dad and I put in an xfi ecu (have a camshaft too, but is somewhat worn) and also took care of the draft in the passenger foot well while the dash was out. The foam on one of the flaps on the blower motor housing was a bit rough to say the least. Also replaced the foam at the joints of the duct work.

On a random side note, I had been driving my dad's 98 4/5 hatchback while my car was down and I have to say the more I drive it, the more I like driving the newer metros. They feel so much more solid and the 4 cylinders are really smooth...don't get me wrong though, still love my 3/5 metro.

This car is nowhere near as good as it looks cosmetically, at least 2 notable accidents (damaged when we bought it), wheel well rot, both frame horns rebuilt, and the trans has a bad bearing at less than 100,000 miles (possibly run low on oil)

Left front hit

I liked my 2000 but it developed numerous serious issues at somewhat low miles. At 110000 miles the valve seals went and it smoked like a chimney, then at 120000 miles the transmission (automatic) went out. Should have got a 5 speed but they are super rare! Probably won't own one again, those coil packs are very problematic. Still a good car though

Lets just say there's a reason that this one is being saved (motor has very good compression 192-200ish on all 4, A/C still works decent)...that and the sunroof doesn't leak :P

I'll get back to you on that as soon as I get a chance to take a picture of what my dad picked up. I'd have to look at what you did again, but I'm pretty sure we were nowhere near as thorough.

Been entirely too long since I've updated this, but haven't done a whole lot either, other than drive the car. :nfs
It did develop a steering wheel squeak whenever I turned the wheel. Followed some advise here: http://geometroforum.com/topic/4555968/1/
Problem solved :thumb
For now though, it's in hibernation as of about a week ago when my dad and I made room in the garage.

Couldn't find the roll of stuff that we used back, but it was basically just 1/2" wide 3/8" thick closed cell foam tape around the joints where there was foam crumbling away. If we were to do it again we'd use 1/4" thick as the 3/8" proved to be a little difficult.

Got my new rear struts/mounts last week. Decided today was the day to start. Also decided to do a little more rust proofing while I was at it.

Old out...

Planning on dropping the gas tank this summer (possibly when my dad and I take care of the rust in the floor) so more can be done, but I figured I'd do this part now while the suspension is out.

Been having some internet problems, so no pics with this update, but the rear suspension is back together. Turned the car around and swapped the steering rack with the one off my old metro. There was play on the passenger side of it. Steering is good and tight now. Also discovered that my air filter was soaked with gas. Didn't do much diagnosing, but am assuming it was a failed injector o-ring. I just swapped the throttle body and replaced most of the vacuum lines. The car had also had a high idle, which seems to be fixed now. It idles at about 800 rpms at this point. If I were to guess it was at 1500 ish before replacing vacuum lines and throttle body.
