Looks like I found a great site to become a part of. Been a fan of maxing personal mpg and wound up with a metro. Well two. One was to work on and later I found one that needed nothing. We put about five or six hundred hard miles on our daily a week. I am a fan of wrenching. That doesn't mean I know everything just enough to get hurt. I am however new to metros. I have been trying to read up and get a few things but trust me you will get a lot of questions.
I also am in a slow rebuild mode of an mk IV MGB That needs some funds and attention. Im not picky I just like tinkering. Until Something is needed to be fixed right away blah blah blah. That seems to suck the fun right out of it. Lokking forward to learning and adding my 2 cents :cheers

Hey there I'm in Mackay (ID). I don't post very often but I've been lurking here for years. I'm currently on my 3rd metro (90 4 door silver 3 cyl 5 spd)

I totalled the 1st, a 91 after hitting an antelope at 70 out in the desert. I sold my red 93 after it finally hit 300 000 +. I just recently put a fresh head and a 'down and dirty' ring job on the 90 all from info that I got from reading on this forum. My compression isi n the 180 range on all 3 and no leaks. Getting in the 50 mpg range so far so good.

I'm driving it about 600 miles every week to Boise and back to work. For a car that I paid about 1000 for I've recovered it all in the 50 000 or so miles I've put on it.

Btw there's a good junker 94 @ the pick and pull in pocatello. I got the drivers seat but there is a complete motor, exhaust, windows, etc.

Good news on the junk yard. The ones up here dont even let you in the yard for insurance reasons. All parts are cataloged and you ask for them at the front desk. Im getting 52 at 55mph with ac on an mid 40s mixed driving. I had no leaks and life was good until egr CEL came on. I thought i would take care of it after a 2000 mile round trip. the last 300 miles I stared losing oil at an alarming rate. Im thinking crank seal. Im glad you cam out of lurking to say hi. Some day we should shoot for a geo junkyard day. Its not much more then an hr away from me.
