I've got four kicker speakers and 500 watts on a 12" compR and it sounds great, but I have bigger speakers and there's not much more power to use. So this type of setup won't work in my geo because it is too much to handle, or would an amp change that?

Okay, so it just gives more power without taking as much from the alternator? Sorry for the noob questions haha, that is exactly what I am. I wish those kickers weren't so expensive, but that is probably what I will invest in the soonest. Where can I pick up the connector for them, and I will need four of them right?

Wow, I have never in my life heard about doing that! How exactly does this create more power flow? It looks sweet regardless lol. One more thing, what amp would you reccommend? Or can I get away with just doin this? Thanks!

Where can I pick up the connector for them, and I will need four of them right? eBay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/151453518992 Or if you prefer Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0002BETHC/
Don't be alarmed that they say they are for "Select Mazda/Nissan Vehicles", if you go to the Metra website: http://metraonline.com/ And search for that part: http://metraonline.com/part/72-9300 You can then select your vehicle on the right, and, well, it takes you to a new page, sadly, but the point is that yes, those speaker harnesses are compatible.
They are sold in pairs, so wherever you buy them from, buy two, and that will get you four harnesses.

Really what you need to decide, is how much you're spending, and what you want the end result to be. What stuff do you have so far?
The geo I am working with has everything stock, which consists of three blown out speakers and a deck that doesn't light up. Antennae is broken as well, but at least I have an extra one for that. And in reality I would like to spend no more than 300 dollars for the audio, then a decent deck as well.

Here's some goofy dude with a how to video on the ground wiring. Gotta do this one dude, you get more power for your buck than any other upgrade: How To Install BIG THREE Upgrade | EXO's BIG 3 Ca…: http://youtu.be/5E2Zuw03jCQ Yeah it doesn't look too difficult at all! Does this only provide more power to audio stuff or the car in general?

It's an improvement on the cars electrical supply in general. When the car was designed and built they made the wiring just big enough to get the job done. By adding a larger charge wire and larger ground it eliminates some of the resistance in the circuit and makes it more efficient.

The kicker speakers are affordable, do well on deck or amp power, look good, and are durable. By the way, you can use the factory 80 amp alternator fuse when you do the big three. It's already in the main fuse box. If you need pics, let me know. Oh man, I probably should have finished the entire video before saying it was easy haha-what exactly do I do with the fuse and how do I connect it to the stock one? Pictures would definitely come in handy! Being as I have too many questions, I will make a list and if you could answer any that would be greatly appreciated.
- What gauge wire should I get for the big 3? I see packages(they come in bundles for either a 250 amp or 350) for the big three upgrade on some websites, but would it be cheaper just to buy the material individually?
- I think I am set on these, the DSC4 for the speakers, what amp and sub could go with this well? I am thinking the CompR would be a good choice(I would enjoy a 12", but is that too much?) for the sub, and maybe the D-series amp, the DXA2501. With that amp, I know I would use this guy(or would I?), but which model is the right one?. What do you think of the whole thing?
- Looked up sound deadening material, what is the good stuff and do I just put it around the speakers?
- After some damn long consideration, I have decided that I will do all of this on my own, without sending it in to be done(except maybe the head unit...). In your opinion, based on how many questions I have, how hard will this feat be? I am quite handy with my hands I would say, but am limited to the tools inside my toolbox, and am living in an apartment so I would have to complete it in one day. I am thinking that just running the wires through will be the most tedious, but I may be wrong.
- Is there any benefit of rewiring the speakers and soldering/crimping the new connectors on versus buying attachments for the factory wires?
- And of course the deck-I do not have any solid ideas on what to buy, but it at least needs an aux and/or usb port. This is the first thing I clicked on just to get a price range. I would rather not go over 100 bucks for this. Any suggestions?
So what I imagined would be a 300 dollar project actually turned out closer to 600, and that is if I do it all myself. Knowing this now, it would be improbable to buy it all at once, at least for this month. Come end of december, I will have a 650 dollar paycheck that I am devoting to my car haha. If I don't go with that route and purchase items separately, what should I go with first? I plan on doing the big three as soon as possible, but what next?
I really do appreciate all the advice you have given to me(and hopefully continue so ), its great to finally have a kind of solid plan of action, and once it gets started I will be so happy I did(I hope)! If I need to clarify anything, it would be my pleasure, and thanks again

That's a lot of questions... First off, it's going to take a day for each step. Wires, dynamat, head unit, etc. A day each. You have to take everything in the car out for dynamat, but it doesn't have to be done immediately, so maybe wait. Since you're going to have to break it down into chunks, start at the top. Get your deck. Personally I prefer Pioneer. If it says Pioneer on the front and has the options you want, it's pretty much impossible to go wrong. Even if you buy it from Walmart. For a sub, the Kicker CompR absolutely whomps. Can't go wrong there either. Be very choosy about your box. Ported is probably best for you, and even though it's rated for 700 watts rms on the 12, honestly, 500 is plenty for it. Just one dual 2ohm on a 500 watt mono amp is all you'll need and will prevent killing your alternator. You will be able to set it for 1 ohm. The 80 amp fuse to the alternator is built in to the car, so I'd just get an amp kit with enough length to use the extra cable for the big three. 2 awg if no name cheap stuff, 4 awg if name brand. Copper strand is best, avoid silver colored wiring. Whatever gauge you get, pick up 6-8 extra ring amp connectors. I prefer soldering over any connector myself. Those kicker speakers are hard to beat for the price, good call there too. If you haven't already, you should check out the Scrappy thread in the Projects forum, will give you an idea what you're in for. Alright, so I put my deck in, which for me will be hard given the fact I have done little soldering, but there's only one way to learn haha. But if I find a good guide to it it should be a breeze. What I still don't get is how I am supposed to bind wires to the fuse....haven't been inside the hood for a good while, so when I think about the fuse box I can't picture how I am supposed to connect wires to any of them. And does it matter what impedance the sub is?
Anyway, here is what I may do then in order.... Head Unit-->Big three-->speakers-->Wiring-->Sub+amp-->Sound dampening stuff
I feel comfortable buying everything, or at least I thought. From what you said for the amp, the CompR has to be the DXA5001 version, not the DXA2501? Because damn that price jumped quite a bit.

Okay, a little disappointing news for myself, but buying all of this right now just isn't feasible. I plan on acquiring only the head unit, speakers and the big three until I get my tax return in April, then I will go ham and buy all of the other stuff. Not what I want to do, but it is the only smart option for me haha. Given the substantial amount of time I have, I am going to research the shit out of all of my options, then by the time April comes I will be able to pick the sexiest system I can afford. Once again man, thanks for all the help, I will probably ask for some help later on if I get stuck with anything!
