Ok, the mystery is solved. First, thanks for all the suggestions. I love this forum, and have been rescued many times by reading a post. I have likely put 20 hours or more into this bucking (pun intended) Geo. Here is the answer. The end of the coil wire was damaged (yes, I had replaced it ). The tip of the coil wire, where it plugs into the cap, was arcing through the center of the cap, which would periodically arc on or into the other posts. I could put as many caps on as I had money. My mechanic buddy found it today. We knew it was electrical, but I figured it was from a sensor. Thanks again and God bless... |
