So I have to wait for a new bolt to come, but I'm making a thread to either make me feel worse or better while waiting. I stripped out the Exhaust manifold bolt (the one with the spring). Do you think I also stripped out the cast-iron manifold too, therefore rendering a new bold useless, or is it likely that the bolt itself yielded to the manifold. I hate strippers. |

Wow... Thought we were getting ready to read about your office party gone bad. You with a lampshade on your head & all, asking about it the next day.

Car Nut that is wishful thinking. ascensions get a tap and run thru the manifold to clean the threads up. |

Mine went bad removing the bolt, everything was rotted. I would try the tap and a new bolt before looking for a new manifold for sure. |

I think I will definitely do that as a backup, if the new stud doesn't thread in. |
