M10 x 1.25 is the correct bolt and thread pitch. If the threads are ripped out, I would also go with a heli-coil before replacing the entire manifold. When putting the bolt in, put a little copper or nickel anti-seize on the threads, to prevent future headache.

I finally realized you're probably talking about the bottom of the manifold where the exhaust pipe bolts on-I thought you were talking about the part that bolts to the cylinder head as mentioned in my previous post-hope you get it fixed soon |

Forget the repair part, we're having more fun with all the thread jacking!

Okay, so UPDATE!!!! (Sorry to interrupt the stripper talk!) Bolt in, I've adjusted everything over and over again and something isn't right. Where the exhaust manifold meets the down-pipe it leaks. I've tried it with the supplied gasket and without. I've tried different springs, and different tightness(es). In addition the pipe touches the oil pan, and rattles quite badly. This is a direct fit from Rock Auto, so I'm not sure where I went wrong here. I'm leaving in two days for eight months and needed to get it inspected. I'm thinking the only hope is to have a exhaust person look at it and make bends in it. First, I'm not sure if this is possible, secondly, this isn't ideal since that's sort of the reason I ordered an exact fit, and I'm not sure if they can do it before I leave on Wednesday. I'm really frustrated. Has anyone ran into this? |

Wow a tuffy. Hum, I think your studes or springs or bolts. Can you post a picture? Should not hit the oil pan. I can take a pic of the way it should be but not until tonight. |

I laid in pouring rain for three hours today. I now hate myself. Pictures can't happen tonight. I'm trying to return my body temperature above 50 F again. Okay, I have a guess. I went back and looked at the order from Rock Auto. I ordered the non-CA version since (of course) I live in NC. Apparently one version has a bend and the other doesn't? Bloody Hell! That's my guess!! So, I feel really stupid right now. So here's my game plan, I'm going to try and get over to this muffler shop in Greensboro tomorrow and pray they can work magic on the car. I fly out Wednesday night for eight months. Edited by ascensions, Jan 12 2015, 06:58 PM.

Wow, yeah I feel your pain. I have done work in the snow before. Best of luck with the muffer shop. 8 Months, you'll still be on the forum though, right? Just out and about. |

Oh I pop in from time to time. I'm doing my Masters in Wales, and thankfully, I don't own a car there.
