Anyone have experience with these? Crap or good investment? I've read in many other forums the similar ones to these with the projector in them suck. I am just looking for a light solution. I can't really see much at night. Maybe my newer cars have me spoiled. Or am I better off doing the rewiring/relay mod? My lights dont look dim, just PITA to see at night. We have lots of deer out here at night too, don't wanna have a deer strike or anything. Ebay Edited by anglarry04, Feb 10 2015, 08:09 AM.

I got some similar to those, marginally better and both of mine have ended up cracked, one with a hole. |

These are fancy housings only. Whether or not they have a the right distribution of light so you can see the road without blinding oncoming traffic?? That's anybody's guess, but at that price, I wouldn't count on it happening. The bulbs are a separate cost. I really do like the ability to use standard replaceable bulbs, which you do not have now. Then you can buy a set of Sylvania Ultras and light up your world!! You may also find that the pattern of the terminals on the new lights doesn't match the old wiring plugs. When I upgraded mine, I had to find new plugs, then figure out which wires corresponded to which functions (the terminals were not wired the same, and the color coding was totally different) and wire them into the old harness. Makes it tough if you don't like them and want to change back! The OE wiring is marginal for the current draw of the headlights, and age hasn't improved their capacity any. Anything you can do, such as a full relay upgrade, will let more volts and amps reach the lights, which will put more photons out the front of the lights. Then you can really notice any shortcomings in the light dispersal patterns!!

You're better off doing the wiring/relay mod, then just getting some Silverstar sealed beams. |

if you cant find the other terminals, you can just use female spade plugs. cover them with dielectric grease, and reuse the boot. aren't the "silverstar" sealed beam number H4666 as well? Edited by sphenicie, Feb 11 2015, 07:32 AM.

I don't know if you can get Silverstars in our obsolete headlight size, but you can find lots that will fit the new headlight bucket. I just picked some up at Wally's World for the Magnum. Making the conversion and modifying the harness opens up a world of options! |

Yes the wiring will be different so its a gamble if it sucks. Thats why I was hoping someone here has tried it. Hmmm...decisions. |

There are so many different types of headlight replacement out there it would be hard to find someone with the exact one you're looking at. So many look similar but vary widely in quality and price. Ya pays yer money and ya takes yer chances!! If you do the conversion and modify your wiring, then decide you don't like it, at least you have a lot of options that you wouldn't with the stock harness. |

And generally the connector can be depinned and repinned differently or in another connector. |

Unless you want to use a new style light with the connectors in a "|_|" configuration and you have the old style with the "|_\" connector. Then you need to change the plug on the harness. |

If it uses the same size and style female spades in the connector, removing it from one and putting it in another isn't a big deal. If the size is different, it won't work. |

Do the relays anyway and you won't regret it! |

The relays and direct wiring will make more difference than anything short of HIDs. And it's also a huge improvement in reliability. |
