I am trying to find a diagram for the radio on a 1999 suzuki esteem, so fr the generic radio websites haven't turned up anything factual. Does any one have a link or diagram they would share. any help is much appreciated

If you're installing an aftermarket stereo, use one of these: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_120707992/Metra-70-7992-Receiver-Wiring-Harness.html?tp=2977
http://www.ebay.com/itm/271284420138
You don't have to cut any wires, and they have a standardized color code to match the wires on the new stereo.
Yellow for constant power, red for switched power, black for ground, etc etc.

The eBay one is cheaper, but does not show the separate ground wire as the one on Crutchfield does.
I don't know if it is included or not. You may want to ask.

Here is the PDF of information on the wires: http://a248.e.akamai.net/pix.crutchfield.com/Manuals/120/120707992.PDF
If you're good with diagrams, you should be able to reverse-engineer what wire is what, in the factory harness...

But I still recommend using the adapter. ^o)

They're actually a Factory Clarion Unit, and the wiring is a little funky. The Esteems had their own wiring connector, that then went to a FACTORY wiring adapter (I know, right? :ermm: ) Before it went into this unit. The funny thing is that the factory wiring adapter used standard aftermarket wire colors!

If this is indeed the unit your going with let me know. I have ALOT of information on them and the Esteems they went into. ^o)

BTW no kidding, this unit has ALOT of untapped options. (like mp3! :O )

I definitely recommend getting a reverse harness like Mythstae said 99.9% of the time, but in this one case, with this one headunit, it might not work.
