Wheels and Low-Profile Tire Options?; What combinations are possible for the lowest tire height?

I have a '94 LSI with 175/70R13 wheels in front. Will 12" wheels fit (stock?) and what's the lowest practical low-profile size? I know different diameters will affect the speedometer, and the results might look goofy, but I'm curious about the available options.

Thanks!

12 inch rims along with 10MM lug bolts were stock on your '94.

Someone must have changed out the rims to 13 inch rims and MAY have changed out the lug bolts to 12MM also.

If the original 10MM lug bolts are still there the original 12inch rims will still fit.

Good luck finding 12s. To expect to find low-profile 12s may be asking too much! Even 13s don't offer a lot of size selection.

Found a 12 at Walmart... Just one tire though. :)

It's incredibly rare to find it in any shop unless you ship it.

175/60/13's are the most logical choice, there are smaller options that the mini guys use like 175/50/13 but they start to look a bit rediculous.
I've used the Yokohama A539 in 175/60/13 on my 86 swift/sprint and it's quite a nice little tire, you may have to indent order it if tirerack don't stock it.

We put 17's on a early one back in the day.

Verts came with 165 65 13s, which are fairly close to the "small diameter" (145 80 12s) and use the same white speedometer gear with minimal (+1.5%) error.

175 70 13 is extremely close to the spec diameter for 155 80 13s and the brown speedometer gear (.5% smaller diameter).

Many of the "usual suspects don't even have the 165 65 13s. Found the following on tires-easy.com

tires-easy 165 xx 13
