Hello I'm new to the forum here. Been working on Geos for a while now but electrical problems make my head hurt. I think I've got a short somewhere in my fuel pump circuit and I can't find it so I am trying to build a new circuit. Has anybody out there got any experience with this? My specific question is do I have to incorporate the fuel pump relay and fuse into the circuit, or can I just pull some 12V from somewhere else and put an in-line fuse in there for good measure? Any help would be much appreciated. I need to get my Geo back and stop driving my F-150 to work! Thanks. |

Many years ago I had a 78 Civic with electrical problems. I ended up wiring the fuel pump directly to some voltage available when running. Having said that, the fuel pump on the Civic went through a cut off relay that stopped the pump in case of an accident. Now that I am older I would be hesitant to run the pump directly wired cuz if you get in an accident the pump will keep running and could contribute to a fire Remove the back seat and look at the wires. Maybe you get lucky. You could run a wire to it for debugging purposes. Always use an inline fuse. |
