I don't know if he's a member on the board, but figured I'd ask about these wheels here. http://www.chrisross.name/car_project.htm Looking to see if anyone knows what wheels these are, or even their size-specs, such as offset/backspacing. He says the tires are 195/45/15 Kumho Ecsta, so the wheels would be 15-inch wheels, and I'd expect the width to be 7 inches. Curious to know if anyone has an idea. I'm looking for a nice set of wheels for my 'vert, and these are just what I'm looking for. ETA: I emailed the addresses on that site, but one address returned as a delivery failure and nothing back on the other one. Edited by Snickers, Mar 27 2015, 02:34 PM.

I found some other rims - Platinum Attitude (below) - that are (visually) somewhat in the same ballpark, and I like 'em. They are a +40 offset. I just don't know if they would situate themselves the same as in that picture above, though. On that yellow 'vert, I like how they protrude just enough to line-up almost in line with top lip of the wheel well, yet they fill enough internally to not look like they are sticking way out. I lowered my Metro with H&R springs, but the travel is very little, as it's a stiff ride (not unpleasant, though), so I doubt I'd rub on the top of the wheel well, even hitting bumps. And my current tires are about a half-inch larger diameter than that set of 195/45/15's. If I could find out what's on that yellow 'vert, I might prefer that. But even just knowing all the dimensions of that rim would help. The Platinum Attitude series is discontinued, but I might be able to find some stragglers in stock. If they were the same dimensions, I'm thinking I'd seek them out. At any rate, I'll probably pull the wheels this weekend and take some measurements. ![]() |

That car is gorgeous, very nice work he did there. You may want to take note though, the "latest development" on that website is from 2005. |

that's my old, old buddy joeyjojomojo from up in nova scotia. he built that car many years ago and hasn't had it for many, many years. if i recall correctly the wheels were old american racing rims. the build blog became a standard for the twincam conversion and vert mods because it was so well written. chris was working in a highly automated wood mill when he built this car and did it all by himself in his home shop with an assist from his dad every now and then. |
