Ive had this car 3 yrs. It has ran fine up till now.. I noticed for the past 6 months the car has a bit of a surging while driving. not bad, never stalling but when you hit the gas while driving you can feel the slight surge. I changed the fuel filter. and the problem was still there. I did try to plug in my OBD tester. and I notice I have no power at the OBD plug. and I have never seen the check engine light come on even at start up. The otherday the car was running and just stalled.. now no start.. I have checked fuses they look good. but I have lost power on the dash and the horn and the flashers.. the engine turns over but seems like its not getting fuel? Im not too good at electronics of cars.. so I dont want to mess anything up,, Help |

no dash lights, no power at the obdII port, and no start? does the check engine light come on when you turn the key to the run position? if it does come on does it go out when you crank the starter? if the cel doesn't light it indicates no power to the ecu, a burned out light, or ecu failure. the ecu is probably the most highly engineered part of the car and they rarely fail (but i have had several gt ecus puke on me due to dumbassery on my part. )

No the check eng light doesnt come on when you click the key over.. It never has.. maybe the bulb is out? but no power to the plug of the OBD is a mystery. and now I have lost alot of interior power.. no dash no dome light no horn no flashers.. and car wont start.. and all the fuses say they are good.. Im trippin.. Im cleaning all grounds now.. and might take the ecu out and see if Im getting power to it.. or see if it looks ok? |

When you say you "checked fuses," did you also check the fusible links in the underhood fuse box? If it turns over, your fusible links A and B are likely good, but C provides power to the fuse block (under the dash), so the link itself may be blown or it could be a connection at the fuse and relay box or at the junction block itself. When you get power restored, the first thing I would do is check for codes to see if you can get ny useful information to help with the surging issue, and address the non lighting Malfunction Indicator Lamp (check engine light) ASAP. |
