I went to pull a part today and seen a good set of tires and rims that fit a geo. The are probably a cheaper tire, (Solus made in china) and I took them off the car not looking real close the the thread. Once I got them off and look across the top of them if looked like a feathered edge. Wasn't terrible bad but still noticeable. They had lots of thread left and the side walls looked like new. I don't think they were on the car very long.

Would it be okay to put a tire like this on the back of the car or would it tend to have driveing issues?

I didn't buy them once I seen the thread wear but thought I would ask. The tire and rim is only $20 apeice.

Wish I would of taken a picture of them.

"feathered" edge indicates out of alignment.

I would run them if I had to. Air up the tire till the 'feathered edge' does not contact the asphalt, maybe 40-45 psi

For $20 ea with rims, I'd go for it. Sounds like they had a toe adjustment issue. Bad tie rod or something.

The tire max pressure was either 44 or 45. That's were I run them at is the max. Maybe i need to go back and get them.

I looked up feather edge wear pattern and I think that was the problem. Toe in incorrect.

Went this weekend and got the tires. I put them on the back of my blue 96. Had to fix a bad bearing anyway so I figures it would be a good time to change the tires out.

I put the tires that came off the back onto the front. Looks like I need to do some front end alignment on the car. Tire wear is a little off.

Looks like it has to much camber right?

So the tie rod ends might be bad or just need adjusted then? I looked at a tire wear pattern example chart and it looked like too much camber.
