Nowhere on the car did it say xfi. The 89 was a "ms" car, no rear side window trim. 3.8 final drive, egr, and computer controlled spark advance. Epa sticker said it was a 49 state car, not California.

So, Me and My Metro, if I understand, the pre 92's were everything an XFi is just not labeled so. Same cam? |

No, the "ms" cars were xfi, the "mr" cars were either base or Lsi. Only the "ms" vin cars have the economy cam and the 3.8 tranny. The other cars have regular cams and 4.1 gears. The 90 and 91 cars I have had were "mr" cars and had vacuum advance distributors and no egr. |
