braided ground strap on '96 Metro; Where does the ground strap attach?

I have a loose braided ground strap for my '96 - loose as in a box. Where does this attach? There is a plastic plug on one end and an eye for a through bolt on the other end. I thought it attached the intake manifold but don't see where to attach the plastic connector

A little more info would be helpful. Is this on the pass. or drivers side of the engine? Front or back?

Can you post a picture of it? Never seem a braided wire that was factory on a 96 or other year.

pic or better description would be nice.

Havent seen one on a later model car, but considering the problems the metros have with grounding it may be a good idea.

On older cars we had a 1/8 inch X 3/4 inch ground strap that attached to the frame on one end and to a bolt on the exhaust manifold/header pipe on the other end. Only purpose was to ground the engine/tranny to the frame of the car.

The ground strap probably belongs on another vehicle I own. Probably left from a trip to the Pick N Pull

What you're describing, by calling it "braided" sounds like the ground strap on my old chrysler back in the day. It went from the block to the firewall, beneath the throttle body. Common issue, since there wasn't another wire/ground strap between the engine and the battery or the chassis and the battery (whichever way 'round it went).

I've never seen one on a Geo. Adding an extra ground shouldn't hurt...theoretically. ^o)
