That is amazing! I will definitely keep this in mind! Unfortunately, the stuff dimming my Magnum's headlight is on the inside, so I need to take the headlight assembly apart.

I don't think it was YouTube. I was on Facebook a few days ago, and a friend posted a link to something. Then when I watched that video, there were links to other ones. I think it was called "life hacks" or something like that. All sorts of weird Lil tricks, tips etc. Logged it in my mind.....today I was cleaning the garage and found what I needed and gave it a shot.
You take some insect repellant with a high % of DEET. I used Backwoods Off with 25% DEET. Sprayed a good amount of it on a shop rag and wiped off the lens. I was amazed how quick and easy it cleared up.

Coche Blanco does not suggest using this method.

I've been reading up on it. Don't spray it directly on the lens....not good for paint if ya get some overspray. If you try it, spray it on your rag and then wipe the lens. Apparently the DEET actually melts a little of the plastic & that's how it cleans so well. Seems similar to a buffing technique, eats away the cloudy surface?

If it's melting the plastic, that's great...but I won't be putting any on my skin ever again!
If it's just giving it a wet look, well, maybe some tire-shine will do the same?

They key to making polished headlights last is to recoat them with a UV protectant. I did a write up, link below. The Metro headlights are still doing pretty good after about 6 months now. Without the UV protection, it can be as little as a month and they are cloudy again. Next time I do it, I'll add two or 3 coats of the urethane for longer protection.

How to polish headlights so it lasts (re-adding UV protection)

Just right clk on Rondawg's vid pic and open the link to photo bucket and you can watch it on there.

I am going to try this with just regular Off if it has a little deet in it.

Also thanks for the link on the UV protect
