Open the box and wire directly to the little electric motor inside. You can't have it plugged into the wiring harness at the same time or the ECU will move it back. |

The automatic's VSS on the transaxle outputs AC, and the PCM converts the ac frequency into speed, unlike the manual transaxle PCM/ECM that uses pulses from the VSS in the cluster. Not brilliant, especially if it doesn't disengage when you apply brakes, and you have to push a button to get the car to idle at some "reasonable" speed. MMM said he did this when his ISC was "jacked up," and I assume/hope he didn't make that workaround because he thought he was "improving" the system. Out of curiosity, how many codes do you have set? All 4 or 5 transaxle related DTCs? More? What year car is yours, and what year engine did you swap in? If the MIL is illuminated because the PCM is looking for components it doesn't see, it's also not brilliant to intentionally give away the Check Engine light. The "something's wrong" light is designed to illuminate and get your attention when something is wrong, and someday you may not be happy you didn't know it when it happened. In my opinion, brilliant would be making your car work the way it was designed to work, which would involve using the correct PCM. |

It was an improvement over the random idle issues that were going on. Rudimentary cruise control was a side benefit that got used once or twice. It could have been an issue in an emergency stop situation, but those don't happen often when in a situation where the cruise control is useful. It was really more of a novelty, I would rather actually drive the car and don't even use CC on cars that are equipped with it. In fact, I used to get paid to drive 10 hours a day, and CC was not an option. |

I understand. It was a "work-araound" because something else wasn't functioning correctly, not a system "re-design goal." I was considering the accepted industry standard risk assessment for these types of systems. Cruise that doesn't disconnect when brakes are applied and require you to push a button during an emergency stop isn't brilliant. |

I hooked up my ultra gauge as I use it for mpg and engine temp and other gauges, but I haven't looked at the codes yet. I have a alarm system for them, so I don't really care about the CEL. And as for the CC, I'm sure with a lot of nerding out, I could wire it up to work the same as a factory cruise control, and hook up the cut off switch to the brakes. Anything is possible. But really it's a lot easier to drive and I don't have to have my foot hard pressed into the floor to keep it at 80kmh, the manual transmission is much nicer. |

And I have a 1996 g13b TBI suzuki, and I swapped a manual transmission from my 2000 FI (apparently g13b, casted into the engine) suzuki swift. Don't know what the gear ratio is tho |

In my 94 upgraded conversion I had to jumper wires on the connector to the auto trans so the ECU always thought it was in neutral. Never did figure out the AC module which needs hotwiring too; I used a switch on the compressor relay line. |

I calibrated my mpg gauge, it was 8kms when I did 125.1kms, which is apparently 17x but it's really 13x for it to be correct. |
