Please don't put a solvent of kerosene in the trans. Its to hard to get back out. Drain the unit. Fill with very cheap oil, run it then drain it again. You might have to do this several times to get the sand out of it. There is sand in that water. It eats bearings. When the flash floods would hit Vegas, I would get a spike in business about 2 months after from people who drove thru the flooded areas. Even thru the vent water will get in. Meaning sand is in there. When you drain the first flush oil, let it settle and see how clear it is of sand and other crap. Solvents get between the gears and shafts and speed rollers. And when you drain it out. There is still some in those rollers. It messes up your oil. Most cars that get flooded this bad, never fully recover. The water is in everything. Not to mention the mold. Sorry to see it happen to your Metro |
