for the past couple months my 87 geo metro has been acting wierd. i went to turn it over, and it wasn't getting enough spark to turn. i bought a bttery, a starter, an alternator. I found out that it was the wiring. I reddi the terminals, and underneath the main fuse box under the hood the wires had gotten too hot at a pont and looked really bad. so i re did a couple of those. The wire from the red battery terminal that goes straight to under the bottom of the fuse box to the fuel pump relay fuse i think is the problem, if i wiggle it, the car will start. any Ideas ? Thank you! |

If the wire needed 'splicing' then the main battery cable is probably turning green inside as well. Probably should replace both battery cables. The main fuse box on the drivers fender has two bolts that hold the fuse in place. These bolts etc get corroded and give you a less than ideal contact. you should probably pull the fuse box and clean all the contacts Corroded ground connections are a problem in the Geos. Here is a 'how to' clean your grounds: http://geometroforum.com/single/?p=958452&t=5720306 Edited by Old Man, May 17 2015, 12:33 PM.
