I'm totally awesome! I swear.

If current trends continue, eventually, there will be more states in the Union where a young woman can: get legally married to her gf; grab a few ounces of weed for the post-nuptial festivities; but be prevented from aborting the fetus she's carrying after getting knocked up by the ex-bf that slapped her around and abused her.

I don't see the moral equivalence of abortion vs smoking a plant. Many politicians push for laws that allow minor girls to go get an abortion on demand, on the taxpayers dime, without even letting her parents know what's going on......Yet throw folk in jail for weed!

The package below was $15.

I don't smoke it, but my girlfriend does. She says legal prices are normally only slightly higher than street prices, and sometimes the legal stuff goes on sale...just like any other product you can buy off the shelf in any store in the state.

The nice thing about legal here is you know EXACTLY what you are getting...it's required by law to be printed on the label. All gubmint tested and approved by the Washington State Liquor Control Board!

There are 4-5 different legal stores she goes to here. I have been in three of them with her. The easiest way to describe the experience to someone from out-of-state would be to say it's like going into a nice cigar shop. Weed stores are all very clean and tidy, everything is laid out nicely in glass cases, and everyone is very sharp, friendly, and polite. They all know their, uhh..."stuff" very well. You will smell weed, of course, but nobody will be smoking it there. They are not dirty or seedy. Every bit as clean as your cellphone carrier's store.

There is one where security will escort you through the doors, and you are literally handed a menu detailing what strains they have, the prices, and it's vibe/effect. Only 2-3 people are allowed into the actual store at a time, others have to wait their turn in the (very nice) lobby.

So, how many joints can be rolled from the product in the baggie? Looks to me about 3 or 4. Not a very good return on your investment if you are comparing it to cigs. Heck around here you can get three cheap PACKS of smokes for $15. IDK about the maryJ, though.

Why would somebody want to go to a store and buy their weed when they can grow a plant in their closet and get it for free? Just keep the growing on the low down and nobody would ever know.

dayle, not everyone has a green thumb. :P

there's as much craft in growing pot as there is in brewing your own beer, and it's not as simple as you would think. you just don't throw a plant in a closet and fire up 6 weeks later.

around here, the fire department comes to your house and finds the pot in your closet. then children's service takes your kids and police confiscate your home. one guy had a grow op running in his basement when a driver crashed into his house and knocked a corner off the foundation. the cops looked right down into basement, arrested the homeowner, took his kids, all the money in his bank account, and his house.

those are some pretty good reasons against growing pot in a closet. ;)

even if it's legal in your state it's still a scheduled substance under federal law. even if it's legal in your state there are still employer rules against it's use and you can lose your job for testing positive. you can't hold a cdl and drive a truck if you fail a random piss test. the usps takes a dim view of smoking reefer, too.

things are changing slowly but there are a lot of things that will have to change before you are going to be able to enjoy a vaporous libation instead of drinking an adult beverage. legitimately, anyway ;)

With the stuff they got now-a-days ya don't roll joints. A couple lil pinches in a small bowl is all ya need.

If it's halfway decent, easily worth triple that here.

One breeds crime, and the other, snuffs it out before it's old enough to. :stoner :D

Cigarettes are often just under $10 a pack here. We have some of the highest cigarette taxes in the country.

I guess that makes weed seem like a better deal by comparison?

Besides...anyone who smokes and/or grows the stuff knows that it's more than a matter of sticking some seeds in the ground and adding water. Marijuana nowadays ain't like the stuff hippies were puffing on 50 years ago. Average THC content then was 3.5%. This bag is 14.7%, and not even considered particularly strong. That means this is four times stronger than the Woodstock variety.

Smoking a whole joint would put you on your ass! :lol

Well that's hardly a comparison, you NEED another cigarette at least once an hour. A joint of today's weed will keep you well F-ed up for an entire day.

If you're a regular smoker, growing "a plant" is not going to keep you supplied very long. I'd guess about ten six foot plants would probably be the break even point where you'd never need to buy again.

buck, what you had for a pound is about what an ounce of decent pot goes for in today's market.

but, being an old guy who looks like a cop, any drug dealer with a sense of self preservation runs the other way when they see me coming so i'm sure that i don't have any inside information to share. ;)
