1999 metro just installed a new fuel pump. Car ran great for a day, next morning wouldn't start. I'm wondering where if any are grounds for the fuel system? Any help is greatly appreciated. |

I just replaced my daughters fuel pump in the 99 last weekend, took a whole freakin day, do you have any leaks? Can you smell fuel anywhere? Did the quick connects go back together good? The two on the pump and the two underneath? Do you hear the pump "run" when ya turn the key to the on position? Did you have any "codes"come up? |

I do not recall any separate grounds. They must be in the connectors. And perhaps the act of bolting up the tank. |

The black wire that has the copper blade that clips onto the side of the pump housing is connected to the plug and ground, the ground is independent of the tank, doesn't rely on tank being grounded, the copper blade is there to ground ANY charge, ie static or otherwise.. |
