TPS jack -male-end failing

Has anyone come up with a workaround for a failing TPS switch on the harness side? It looks like the wires are failing.
I'm going to try tinkering with it once more time, but I'm pretty sure it's the wires. All it takes is a few good yanks to screw up the wires themselves.
I'll do the usual - pinch the connectors a bit, clean the contacts again (they're really hard do get at), and the usual shed-tree electronic tech tricks I get up to.

I just figured I'd check with the experience of others before I start monkeying with it too much, or replacing the tips.

Replacements are cheap on eBay. The easiest thing to do is probably just buy one.

Find a matching TPS connector from the PnP, cut off enough of the connector and wiring to replace what you believe is bad, and wire (solder) it together? :dunno

My experience with such suggests that for less than $10 more for a new jack, a used one is asking for more of the same trouble.

I guess I was mostly looking for techniques for repairing the plug that's there. I suppose removing it and doing it on the bench isn't a bad idea.

Eh, if I can't get it working in ten minues of screwing with it today, I'm just going to get this. They're going to want that much at local yard.

Hrm. In a few weeks, that link will be useless. You can find them on eBay for $10 including shipping.
