I normally don't travel on Holidays, but I'm making an exception this weekend. Picture perfect weather forecast, so I'm packing the bike with some camping gear, meeting up.with a couple riding buddies and heading to a motorcycle campground called The Riders Roost.
They have a big 3 day party planned, celebrating Memorial Day & their 25th anniversary of being in business. (I've been going up there for 10 years) I'm planning on heading up there Sat morning, pitching a tent and coming back on Sunday.......if I'm not too hung over!
Great place, ran by awesome people, and a hang out for some really cool folks!

Making trip to Georgia and pick up a four post lift. Have to take it apart but that is no problem. The lift
is 3 years old and I save a ton of cash on it.

I have a bunch of projects around the house, hopefully I can whittle away at a few on monday or maybe even sunday when I get back. Before I got my Metro I spent so much more of my free time on my bike. The past couple yrs I have ridden it considerably less.
I took it out last weekend for a nice lil ride and snapped this photo. It needs a good detailing but is still running strong with over 100k miles on it.

The nursery delivered my order yesterday so I'm gonna be busy from now until it's done getting stuff in the ground. Pull up all the old landscaping rock and plastic, rototill the beds, put down fabric, plant it and then mulch like crazy!! I've got roses, privet hedge, fruit trees, and decorative plants galore! Then it's on to replacing the decking on the front porch and building a new railing around it.

Other than that I don't have much planned.

No real plans yet. Will head over to the local cemetery and visit the Veterans buried there on Mon. I know most people party and BBQ on this holiday. But take the time to visit the Vets buried in your local area's, it is what this holiday is for.

That's why there is more and more people like me who don't celebrate them anymore.

Last year I bought small American flags and made sure each Vet's grave in my small town had one. I also made sure to place a penny on the head stone showing respect and that someone visited that grave. This year I don't have the money to buy the flags. But will visit each one again. Some of the Vets date back to the Civil War, and passed away much later.
