This is a "screen-shot" from the Riders Roost Web Site explaining some of the events planned for this weekends festivities. There is NO DOUBT that everyone there will know the meaning of Memorial Day.

No real plans yet. Will head over to the local cemetery and visit the Veterans buried there on Mon. I know most people party and BBQ on this holiday. But take the time to visit the Vets buried in your local area's, it is what this holiday is for.
i wish holidays meant something to people, x mass the 4th memorial day its all just retail days, buy more this or that when none of these days have to do with buying any thing.
That's why there is more and more people like me who don't celebrate them anymore.
Last year I bought small American flags and made sure each Vet's grave in my small town had one. I also made sure to place a penny on the head stone showing respect and that someone visited that grave. This year I don't have the money to buy the flags. But will visit each one again. Some of the Vets date back to the Civil War, and passed away much later.
As a vet of OIF war, thanks. :cheers

I have no idea yet. We tried to plan a camping trip but the camp ground was booked up. Be a fun weekend to be on the lake but my boat is still broke. Thought about maybe driving down to check on Billy508 in FL. Hmmm... :hmm

Was planning on hanging out here, burning some burgers on my brand new gas grill from Lowes. Hauled off my old million pound cast iron Vermont Castings grill. Had to lift it over my back deck rail & into my pickup. (With a buddy's help). Picked up the new one this morning, Had another friend help lift it onto the deck & noticed I can't even hook up the hose to the tank. Too short. Started looking & noticed the hole recess where the tank sits is on the right side, instead of the left, where the hose is. Looks like the China man welded it up bass ackwards or something. :smackface Called the dept mgr & explained what was going on & could they throw one on the delivery truck & swap it out tomorrow? She said they'd try & stand by while she trys to arrange it. That was 2 hrs ago. Still waiting for my call back.
4 pm call. New grill coming tomorrow. :popcorn

I knew I wouldn't be able to make it up to the military cemetery at Ft. Snelling so I spent some time up there last weekend paying my respects. Had the whole place to myself. It was a good day.

I hope to take the fishing boat out at least one of the three days. We might take a ride up to the mountains in the new Elantra to see how it pulls the big hills.

Being retired and living on a high tourist traffic highway, we tend to stay home on weekends, especially holiday weekends.---Off weekends and middle of the week is our travel time.

Probably go to Orcas Island next week and do some "Clamping"---'Classy Camping' with all arranged such as a tent with Queen size bed etc etc.

Meanwhile we just visited the local cemetery with many many military buried there.

I normally don't travel on Holidays, but I'm making an exception this weekend. Picture perfect weather forecast, so I'm packing the bike with some camping gear, meeting up.with a couple riding buddies and heading to a motorcycle campground called The Riders Roost.
You're gettin' into my neck of the woods, "Wilkes County", now.

Have you ever riddenBrushy Mountain Rd, in Wilkes County? It's an extremely popular, winding & twisting, mountain road, that's frequented by both sport bikers and Harley bikers.

Well, the lawn mower blade got bent so that needs to be fixed. :'(

Saturday on the Web is the Giro d'Italia bicycle race but just a time trial. Later is MMA. http://livetv.sx/en/allupcoming/

Sunday is both the Grand Prix of Monaco and Indianapolis 500 and later NASCAR Charlotte Coca-Cola 600. http://www.tvracer.com/

Break time will include working on the cars and going for a ride on my tricycle. :)

"Work" will be checking in on forums and learning Division 6.2 Infectious Substance Shipping. :-/
