I name any car if a good name comes to me, my white 93 xfi is named betty white because shes white, my 91 verts name is 2 chainz because he is red and has 2 blue fenders so one day I said "he's different" which is a song title by 2 chainz, so it stuck. Then my wife has a white sunfire named olaf and a 96 red civic named dEKster. I just wait until something pops into my head that sticks lol

I apologize for the rant lol

Wife named our 'Vert.--She said, "Hmmm. Small, White, Used for good times." She then went to the store and got a package of tic tacs, hung them from the rear view mirror, got TIC TAC license plates and officially named it "TIC TAC"

I call mine the Mr SUZUKI Convertible because it was signed by Mr. SUZUKI in 2006 when he came to CAMI Automotive for the new launch of the Suzuki XL7. :thumb :thumb

Like most, it is what speaks to me about the car. Red, 3 cylinder, 1 liter, went over 100 mph... gotta be Mighty Mouse. It couldn't have a different name at this point without removing the headliner and hood ornament.

I usually go with what seems to fit - So my daughter who's crazy about Rainbows wound up with the Rainbow Racer and loved it until it got t-boned, my wife enjoyed Lil-red her convertible until the son caused it's untimely demise, Now I have Gladys whom I got in Gladys, Va - she is an 89 4 door 5 speed and none too fancy, hence Gladys seemed to fit, currently she's due to get a heart transplant so she'll wind up with the Rainbow Racer engine that was refreshed about 50k ago...

Well "Boogie" is just slang for a cheap beater car. And some of my friends and coworkers like to say I "Rock the magnum" (It's an in-joke). Therefore, "Magnum Boogie" was created. And I had a specially made plate to advertise it.

-cut and pasted from my "Magnum Boogie Origin" thread

The Grenade has an unoriginal name, but it is literally about to explode at any minute. Some pin is going to come loose at any minute, and BANG.

Sometimes it's the Red Grenade, and sometimes it's the Crimson Grenade. Crimson Grenade is a play on Crimson Devourer, which is a friends giant dually Ford pickup of the variety that is used to haul fifth wheels. It's all customed out and has a mashed in front end with a cow-catcher-style grille, and has a multi-colored cap. It gets about 2 MPG and looks mean as heck, so we call it the Devourer.

We also call the Crimson Grenade the Cartastrophe.

Take a Metro. Disassemble the motor. Put the parts in an industrial dryer. Park a second Geo Metro next to the dryer. Unplug a spark plug. Remove it's exhaust. Start both of them.

This is the sound of the Crimson Grenade. Be very afraid.

(That was the sound when i got it. It's much better now).

I'm totally awesome! I swear.

Initially, I dubbed mine, "Commensurate Diminutive", because it's just like a real car only smaller. But, for the sake of brevity, I downsized it to "PTA2PTB", as, from a purely utilitarian mindset and mode of transport, it gets me from, Point 'A' to Point 'B'. It doesn't always get me back, but I have AAA, for that.

I've got 3 with names...

1996 Geo Metro - Phoenix, after the mythical bird, that dies in flame and is reborn from the ashes. She didn't burn up before I got her, but she WAS on her deathbed - I got her from my cousin, and said cousin is NOT a mechanic - broken back window, mold, smoked like a chimney... she'd have gone to the crusher. :'( So I resurrected her. And now, she flies. :)

1995 Nissan Pathfinder - Terra. Short for the Japanese name for the same vehicle, "Terrano". Terra also meaning "earth" or even perhaps "dirt"... good name for an SUV. ^o)

1988 Honda VTR 250 (Motorcycle, a very small sport bike) - Luna. I'm not sure why I gave her that name, but she's white and baby blue (the moon does glow in a sort of icy way sometimes) and she can do circles (orbit) around Terra... :D
