She's unmistakably green, and machine rhymes. Plus...

The last two daily driver Metros I had were named Sippy (sipped gas) and Guzzler (didn't really guzzle gas but the names fit together). Not sure what to call the new '99 I just purchased. I would be open to ideas....

My other cars with names are Stroker (Miata with a 383 stroker V8 in it), Kiki which is a LAVA Orange Metallic turbo MSM Miata (Mt Kīlauea is a volcano and I guess my wife calls it Kiki because Kīlauea is too hard to spell), and ToyTaco (Toyota Tacoma).

The build for this was done on a TV show for a shop in Florida (iirc). The first thing they did with it was run it into a pole since the brakes didn't work.

The Metro. I have always repaired my own cars, but if I took my bucket to a real mechanic, what would I say if I had named my car?
" What's going on with your car?"
" Billy's sick."
Naming my car is just not me. Not gonna hug it. Not going to introduce it to my friends. Nickname, maybe. Bucket, Rig, etc. If I go outside one day, and my car is dancing on its back wheels to, " Let it Go", like an animated Disney character, okay, I'll reconsider.

I don't do names. Does that make me a Commie or something? I'd never be able to remember all their names anyways. :lol

I Can't Find My Tent...

I was teaching third grade at the time I bought Fluffy. Fluffy was the name we gave virtually every animal that anyone brought into the classroom, even a pet crawdad. So when one of the kids asked what I was going to name my "new" convertible it was just logical that she was going to be called Fluffy, as well.

Always seemed to be running out of luck. So I named her Lucy, she's just short of being lucky.

My son is 2 and a half. One day about a week prior to acquiring my Firefly he was uttering what I assumed to be nonsense words - he said what sounded like "dundo duction" a few times. I didn't know what he meant, but I liked the sound of it and wrote it down.

A week later I had gotten the Firefly and after driving it a few times was absolutely smitten. This car needs a name, I thought. Soon after I found the paper with two words I wrote in blue crayon - same color as the car and it hit me with a flash - this is the name of the car!
I told my wife and she said he is actually referring to the children's animated tv show
"Jungle Junction".
The show is basically a bunch of animals that have wheels instead of legs, and they drive everywhere. How appropriate!

Okay, I Know I'm Gonna Regret Throwing My Hat In This One By Posting On THIS Thread Because Some Of You Already Hate Me, Oh Well Here Goes! Rolling The Dice And Taking The Risk And Gamble And Hoping No One Here On This Site Doesn't Call Me Out Or Try To Make An Ass Out Of Themselves By Picking A Fight With Me!

I Have More Or Less Decided On Naming My Geo Metro FRANCISCA And Dedicating It To My Now Diseased And Dead Ghanaian Wife To Be (Over A Year Now Since She Was Sadly Killed In The Bus Hijacking By AL QAEDA, And Died In The Hospital.) And Even To This Day I Still Sadly Mourn Her Passing And Not A Day Goes By That I Don't Think Fondly Of Her. She Will Forever Have And Possess Residency Within My Heart. And No One And I Really Do Mean NO ONE Can Take That Away From Me. DO NOT EVEN TRY!!

My Car As Well As She, Has Led A Hard Life, And She May Have Died At 32 Years Old, My Beloved GEO METRO Is Still Hanging In There Even With All Her Issues Like The Click Click Starter Issue And Plugged Injector And Rear Tire Imbalance Issue And So Forth. I Wouldn't Drive Anything Else. And I Won't Marry Anyone Else Because SHE WAS A REAL WOMAN AND SHE SET THE STANDARD FOR WOMEN And In My Honest Humble Opinion, NO OTHER WOMAN EVEN COMES CLOSE!! GHANAIAN WOMEN ROCK!!! :rocker

You All Can Keep Your GHANA BASHING To Yourselves. Enough Already! :lol

Just Like The GEO BASHING And The DISCO BASHING, (Perfessor?) :evillol

I'm in the "I don't name cars" camp....... Where does it end when you start naming inanimate objects?...... Toby the toaster.... Donna the dishwasher..... Jose the hose.

That's not to say I haven't had a few conversations/ choice words for a few of my cars over the years though ! :D
