Forgive me as it's Memorial weekend and I had a bit of drinking for what I'm going to say next. Not wanting a pity party more of have few words that should make you think twice in future before complaining on small stuff out loud to society in any fashion or form to frivolous problems. Little history ex infantry served war and different man now. A real crappy weekend consists of running low on food/ammo in desert wearing chemical suits in 120 degree temperatures while getting shot at with no sleep and holding a friend in your arms losing his life serving a country that the majority doesn't respect it's own military and veterans. :beer
No forgiveness needed. Perfectly apt reminder, especially this weekend. Thanks.

Went jogging. Made breakfast. Changed oil on Metro. Will pull weeds later. Last night I drove to LAX to pick up my sis at midnight. Couldn't find her. Got home at 1:30 AM. Today I find out she gave me the wrong date. So I get to do it again tonight.

Mythstae, what do you wear when you officiate at a wedding? Pant suit? Dress? Flowing robe with cross emblem? Just curious?

It's more or less up to the folks actually getting married, but let's see, it's been uh, pant suits, mostly. Upcoming one is gonna be a pant suit too, but I gotta get new pants, I lost weight and my old pants are too big! :P Might even wear a tie, if the blouse I have will work with it. (Ladies shirts are not generally structured to accomodate a tie...)

Ok, here are some things that you can do to make your weekend more exciting. There are a few things on this video that I have a hard time doing as I get a little older...

..but, but...they made it sound so much more exciting, in the recruitment posters.

Besides what I posted it was exciting, blowing stuff up shooting anything that looked like it posed a threat, running through houses crashing parties (drove through a couple too), traveling to different countries, commandeering all sorts of vehicles and shoving vehicles out your way with them or humvee. If it was boring you should of went infantry then rangers, special forces, joined a few schools such as airborne, pathfinders. It was up to you to make it exciting there is always a conflict somewhere.

Fastest Hampster EVER

I had a great weekend. Spent it with the wife and kid, and did flea market stuff. Drove up to Kansas City and hit a few antique shops, found a draw knife, #5 plane, and a hand cranked drill with a shoulder pad. Everything under fifty bucks. I was happy, the wife was happy, the kid was bored out of his skull. Oh well, doom on him for not getting into the excitement of buying old tools. hehe

Econoboxer, just remember that today will soon pass and tomorrow will bring a new kind of excitement. Just chalk this weekend up to a lost cause and start daydreaming of what great new adventures lay ahead of you next weekend. We are humans and as such we will have bad days from time to time. Just make sure you have more good days than bad days and in the end, you will have had a great life.

Ace..........hang in there buddy. I sure am proud of everybody whose served in the Armed Services. Sure humping in the desert in a rubber suit sucks, but at least you did your part to keep this country a great place to live. Without people like you I would not have the freedoms I enjoy. Thank you so much for you commitment to the United States. I appreciate everything you've done. God Bless.

I am the one on the left.

Ace- when Veteran's day next comes, I'll be sure to thank-you.
Memorial day is for those who gave all. It doesn't mitigate the fact that I had a crappy weekend.
How dare you trivialize my life?

Hope you have a good week, econoboxer. It's not too late to take a beer out to the garage and just marvel at your Suzuki based engineering achievement. No one can take that away from you.

:shake Never said it was my day I was giving example of how bad a weekend can be and has been for others for who this day is for, not a day to complain on frivolous stuff.

You don't have to be a veteran to have a bad day.
