Let me just say that I hate spending any time with the fam- and it sucked big hairy man danglies. My sister-in-law is always spoiling for a fight- so its walking on eggshells to be around her- she brought 2 kids, and their spouses- as well as the rugrats- to a construction zone. Her husband thought it would be a good idea to have a four-year old climb the ladder and get onto the scaffolding 12 feet up. All this work- for my 79 y.o. Veteran farher-in-law. If the kid would have fallen- it would have put an end to the work- and it would have really Lit the fuse. My kid thought I was ignoring her all week-end- and I sent her friend home with the- don't expect to be invited ever again comment. Why- because she hasn't learned how to be considerate by her age. It is rude to go out to dinner wih a family and order food you don't intend to eat- an this was her second time. Sorry, but that don't fly with me. My dog killed a rabbit in front of my daughter- and she was traumatized. She told me about it. And I asked her to relate the tale to her father. He was talking guns and ammo talk with His brother-in-law, and did't notice her trying to get his attention. Finally- she got his attention, and my brother-in-law admonished her for being rude and interrupting adult conversations. This is the same asshole who'd fly off the handle if anyone dare say Anything to his kids about their poor behavior. I absolutely can't stand this part of the family- and had to mind my P's and Q's while walking on eggshells- making roofing packages, bustin a hump up and down ladders- preparig group meals for picky eaters- and being sensitive to the fact that my niece married a Jehovah's Witness- and she brought his African American body to the party- while her parents(the most racist people I know), had to make nice. At least their kids were slightly better behaved. I argued with my husband, because in the past his sister has critizised me- and he didn't have my back- and with them tearing my kid a new asshole for rudeness- where it wasn't warranted- and he again said nothing in defense- peeved me -I'm so angry about it- that I don't even want to be marginally related- so-yeah- it was a craptastic week-end- and that's only a quarter of the shit that hit the fan this week-end. More than once I thought of nothing I'd like better- than to tell everyone how I really feel. Also, I'm not a person who complains often- so, when I do- it becase I've had all the crap I can handle- and I wasn't moaning about trivial things. Edited by econoboxer, May 26 2015, 12:25 AM.

Um, wow. That really does sound like a sucky weekend. It WILL be a better week. At least now I know who the one on the left is! I never knew if you meant your left or ours. Maybe next holiday just do something with the person on the right, your daughter, and of course your dog. |

mowing the ditch at my house, not using my regular riding mower, flipped it over, saw two rotating blades of death about 5 feet away from me as I rolled one way, the mower rolled the other way. for some damn reason the blade kill switch/ seat safety engine kill switch didn't work.....watched it lay on its side, running until it choked itself out on engine oil, huge plume of smoke. bent the seat brackets, hood, etc....I have always used my larger mower for the ditch, way more stability, hydrostatic drive....if your foot comes off the pedal, it shuts down...the smaller one, belt drive, you need to put your foot on the pedal to stop it (combo clutch-brake-park brake pedal) but I was in a hurry, end of the day sunday, just get it done quickly...(my son was using the larger one) almost paid the price by losing my life, or being a cripple from it...large bruise on my ass-cheek, scraped skin....the wife and other son watched it all happen, they thought I was either dead or severely injured..... you hear of it happening to other people, but you never think it will happen to you.... you know the scene in the average action movie, where the helicopter crashes, and the tail rotor gets close to the hero's face? yeah, that was me....I Michael bay'ed that shit

I got to spend time with my brother, which normally wouldn't be terrible. Except we spent time replacing a timing belt on the side of the road, on the side of a mountain road. |

Most of my relatives are in the Texas / Oklahoma area, that's one of the reason I live in the Pacific NorthWest. I keep watching the tornados in that area, don't see any of the relatives as dead---too bad.......... |

Sometimes, being the better person does not come without punishment.... It's a weekend like that which makes you remember "Do not love the things of this world, nor the things it offers you...." whether it's narcissism, fake morality, emotional detachment, hedonism/revelry, intellectual superiority, or whatever else.... All those people have within themselves is emptiness and sorrow because that's what chasing after all the various promises of "Happiness" that the world brings - and the only way they can think of to try to "Fill" that emptiness is to ruin the lives of everybody else around them... Sorry you had a shitty weekend. |

At the dmv- youngest child obtained learner's permit. One year from now, we'll be in, renewing permit- because she isn't taking driver's ed until next summer. In the mean time- she can drive with mom and dad. Thats good. I wonder if permits are honored out of state...edit: yes- most states recirocally honor- with a few exceptions- Arizona- my neighbor to the south- and Cali only has a ten day honoring. I think road trips are a great way to get long hours of experience in. Edited by econoboxer, May 26 2015, 07:16 PM.
