So " dress up the exterior" Some t-111 or ceder shingles, maybe vinyl siding, might look more " conventional" to the park owners and you'll still have the " bullet proof" trailer underneath.
:+1 this is a great option and should not cost that much to do if your doing it yourself.

Thanks for the insight Car Nut I get what you mean and that helps in deciding to put something on walls as I been thinking about it. Thought about fiberglass/filon rolls that seams to be hassle, and wood might be to heavy so I am trying to figure out how to make aluminum more RV like. I want to buy land but got to save up for that, but don't want to do it in a town that rains 210 plus days a year.

Oh and this isn't actually RV parks that are rejecting me it's actual individual's who own land or have space on their property. Though I gave up on RV parks themselves long ago, no room and can't fart without neighbor complaining. When you tell them the rig is 40 ft plus 8 ft of tongue they get wide eyed lol

I love the idea of using a shipping container as a house, your just needs a bit more work.. paint it up with some fake windows etc..

Yeah I known it does, just takes time. Has two windows already maybe one more in future. Only been at this past year and few months not bad for fact I towed it over 3000 miles so far and no problems, just a bunch of gawking people which I understand.

Here is the wood stove I built for it, kept this place warm with no insulation in single digit temperatures with easy 8 hr burn time.

I just had a metal garage installed. The 14 gauge steel siding is fairly light weight, easy to install and will last a long time, even in Quilsene weather.

If you haven't already, look up "DIY tiny house" and "DIY container home" for ideas on how to decorate it to make it more palatable to prospective land lords. Tell them it's a 40ft tiny house. That should spook them less than a container home. A little artsy and funky is good. Go too far and they'll think it's weird though. Done right, it will appeal to the average person (i.e. prospective landlord) more than a factory fifth wheel would.

People are much more amenable to this kind of thing if they think you are a bohemian, artsy, save the environment type than just someone trying to get by inexpensively. At least they are west of the cascades in Oregon and Washington.

Where abouts are you thinking about relocating it to?

Port Angeles Sequim area, yeah I thought about going with whole tiny house line. In fact I have already built one from a 1950's with dutch hip gable roof 14 ft by 8 ft. my dad owns it now, no pictures on here of it. Might take next months pay and start slapping something or slap the Geo in for rebuild I can't make my mind up. :hmm

According to specifications on shipping containers on high cubes they weigh 8600 lbs empty. Corteen steel is rot proof steel and 50% stronger than steel of same gauge and for it to rust actually is its protective coating. So far I have cut most the braces out that are 12 on center cause it will never be 80k lbs in here, back doors are so heavy I hate to attempt to pick one up, but will cut them off and drag it away with truck then replace it with low caliber bullet resistant glass sliding doors with fold down aluminum deck. Lots of plans just one day at time. :drivin

I didn't mean start over. Continue your build but art it up a little. Put it on a website or facebook page and talk about how you like building things yourself, living simply, helping the planet by minimizing your footprint and recycling etc. Say how you are inspired by the tiny house movement and the idea of sustainability etc. Check out tiny house and container home blogs to see if there are leads to people in the area that are OK with putting one on their land.

i know people said you should dress it up or move to the woods, my vote is move to the woods. people are stupid and if you dont look like them they dont want you. dressing it up is an option and people go ballistic for shit with sprinkles i have no idea why. in my opinion i love the way it looks, clean simple square lines and no BS to get messy it is a square metal box how much nicer could it be, people need to let other people be, i dont ask the next door people why or what but oh boy do they like to ask me a shit ton of questions about my stuff.

maybe i should move out to the woods in a metal box, sounds fabulous to me

Its what I been trying to do but out here even the ones out in the woods reject it. Since this is a area that fills up with RVs for summer they don't mind rejecting it. Trust me last thing I want to deal with is anyone, society majority is narrow minded.
