Long trip with the Peanut the white geo. Middle of the trip instrument lights dome light and tail lights went out but no fuse went out. So I am thinking a fuse went out somewhere out. I think the dome and instrument and running lights all run from the same 15amp fuse r/y wire for the instrument and running lights and w/b for dome light.

Any thoughts? :-/

I pulled the fuse block and nothing seems melted in there. Hot is to the fuse but not to the wires I guess.

Did you try a known good fuse in the TAIL position?

Have you checked all the items on the TAIL fuse to see if they are out also?

Yep all out too. Per my 1989 FSM it shows a white wire from the fuse module from a 15amp fuse, supplying the instrument panel, dome light and running lights. Even with a fuse that is good, and my meter says is ho,t my lights and instruments are out. I think I have an open in the white wire from the fuse module. :coffee

I had the same symtoms as yours with good fuses (though I can't remember if power to the fuses was hot) a new fuse box fixed the problems-how old is your battery? my car started to act funny electrically when the battery was on it's last legs-

Battery's very good. Yeah may have to change out or short by the fuse module.

If you get stumped and want to bring it to Longview, shoot me a PM.

Thanks MMM, I am going to short into the white wire that supplies all the items and if that takes care of it I will know indeed that it is a point in the fuse block that has gone open.

That white wire that supplies the items about including the running lights is super small AWG, seems like it should be larger... has a 15 amp fuses protecting it. Seems like it should be a 10amp or even 5 amp fuse protecting it.
