| T3RAGTOP! Why didn't the hybrid 3 turbos work? | |

T3Ragtop mentioned that only a honest to god turbo3 engine was good for a high powered turbo application. I know it's got beefy connecting rods, and something going on under the valve cover, but what else? What were your experiences with the hybrid motors? Thanks in advance, from all the homies who would try to reinvent the wheel.

I'm not T3Ragtop, but lower compression pistons. Multipoint fuel injection. Ecu already set up to run the turbo. Not sure, but I'm guessing that it has a knock sensor also. Any engine can be set up to run a turbo. Everyone's definition of high powered is different. If your throwing in for example a t3 platform garett turbo, your already off the duty cycle for fuel of the stock t3 setup. A great easy to read book is Maximum Boost by Corky Bell. |

Ha-ha. Shows you how sharp I am! I could only name two differences! Thank you for the response. I was actually curious to hear about his personal experience of trying to build a hybrid G10(t). I would love to know more about turbocharging. Thanks for reference. |

What is a hybrid? I had some turbo experience in a originally non turbo car. |

In T3ragtops project thread he mentions using N/A engines with some turbo3 parts to create higher boost turbo G10's. Seems like most of us are simply blowing 6-8 psi through the throttle body, and getting around 100 hp. He mentioned that unless you have a genuine turbo3, you will have problems( with higher hp). I am hoping he will speak a little bit more about the issues he had with this strategy. |

I have a feeling nothing is going to come of this thread. Maybe I did something wrong/impolite. Don't know, oh well. Maybe someday I'll just try to build a hybrid engine myself, and see what happens... |
