Just bought me a P.C yesterday from Lenovo that offers free free 10 install though not going for it even though I might have to pay for it when I do. Let them iron the bugs out and such for a year or more then I will make a decision. I use to build my own computers but Lenovo had a sale so I custom built one on their website. This tablet I got from Verizon going in wood stove when it gets here. I got spell check off and anything associated with it and if I delete a word or character I type it takes words, word or letters and scrambles them in that area or somewhere else, sometimes deletes a word and moves it. Dont get me started on the two apps at one feature, thats a joke not cause it freezes but shuts down one and opens a app of its own choosing. |

Burning batteries is a bad idea for your lungs, yo. If you hate the tablet so much... give it to another forum member? ![]() We've got a few that can do rooting and custom ROMs and all that kind of stuff... So you get rid of a thing you hate, and somebody gets a new toy to fiddle with. Win/win! |

Someday, fools will be begging you to say something witty, and funny again. You can just tell them, "Nopes! You didn't even appreciate what you had!". |

I could always do like one member and make it into a instrument cluster since I have a 97 Metro. |

10 will never have a subscription I have no idea why people keep saying that. They skipped 9 for software compatibility so some badly written software that looked for "windows 9?" would not complain about running an old version. Anyone curious about what 10 looks like there is tons of stuff on YouTube. I personally run debian instead of Ubuntu. It is a lot nicer in my opinion. But for any real work I use Windows since there are a lot of things missing on linux/mac. For casual use Linux is pretty good though. If I had to fix family computers I'd probably put linux on them. Or take admin rights away on 10 and be done with it. |

i have windows 7 ultimate on 2 netbooks and while i like that operating system, i don't run my netbooks often. i use my old stinkpad running on winxp because it's compatible with my old external creative extigy sound card. why? because it has midi, optical, digital coaxial, and lots of analog inputs and it's the heart of my dolby 5.1 sound system and the interface to my vintage nakamichi 400 audio system used on my computer console/ personal av system. when they moved away from xp they left an awful lot of legacy peripheral equipment in the dust, lacking driver upgrades. my extigy usb sound card is better than any new stuff i've looked at and i just can't stand the thought of losing it over a new operating system. when it blows up i'll move on but right now it's providing all the sound for my personal av system. and for the record, i hate windows 8.1. it was crap from the get go and i was happy to hear that they fired a bunch of microsoft idiots over that epic fail! it enslaves you to the windows cloud and the windows store which irks me. i buy what i need and own what i buy. i don't like being put on the hook for services. |

Probably because it says "Free for the first year" or some such when you get in to the pre-upgrade stuff. Now, that could mean it's free if you do it within a year of it coming out, or, it could just as easily mean that after a year, it'll start costing ya $$. |

Wrong. Wow, thats cool, but does that mean, I will have to pay for Windows 10 after the first year? No. Its a promotion to get as many users to upgrade their existing Windows 7 PCs and Windows 8.1 devices to Windows 10. As Microsoft Program Manager for Windows Terry Myerson described it: This is more than a one-time upgrade: once a Windows device is upgraded to Windows 10, we will continue to keep it current for the supported lifetime of the device –at no additional charge. |

Please Microsoft.....give me the Windows 10 upgrade!!!! Windows 8 is the biggest piece of shit. I'm using it on a regular style laptop and it is horrible. I've had my laptop 1.5 years and it's still a PITA to find files or looking up simple things. Idk why these companies try to reinvent the wheel instead of making subtle changes. Fucking Windows 8.....I hate it. |
