Jalopnik has deemed the Geo Metro Convertible the worst car of the 90's in a list of ten. Check out the list and let me know if you would be embarrassed to daily-drive one.

:cheers I was thinking something along the same lines. :lol

I won't lose any sleep because some snooty 20 something year old kid with a mediocre internet blog proclaimed my Vert the worst car of the 90's... I have owned and driven a lot worse cars than this before he was even born. :D

And I wonder how many <$10,000 cars he designed that are still providing service to some while getting 50 mpg?

It is hard to argue they didn't deserve to be on that list somewhere, but that it doesn't mean we aren't allowed to appreciate them in our own ways.

It gets decent fuel economy and can definitely move under its own power, but there is no car I would be more embarrassed to be seen in than the Geo Metro Convertible. How could someone be okay with daily driving one of these?
I got news for you young Mr. Brown. I have never been embarrassed to drive a car I worked hard to pay for with my own money and maintained myself, nor should anyone be for that matter. And my driving isn't that bad... is yours??? :lol

I agree with the Lumina for not cosmetic but fact they were notorious for blowing head gaskets. While we are at bashing 90'ss lets add the Probe, notorious for blowing transmissions or how about the Aztec that looks like a bad joke for futuristic look. Monte Carlo ate timing chains guess they forgot to mention that.

I notice the only reason cited is that it's unattractive.

Hey, I appreciate the hatchacks more than the 'verts, but seriously? Had they never seen a Capri?

<EDIT: I like the look of the Capris more, but it's *because* they are so unattractive.>

I also was wondering why the Aztek was missed. Too bad the Caliber wasn't available yet.

How did they miss the bloody Corsica? They were worse than the Lumina, by far. Go ahead, I dare you to try and remember the last time you saw one of those outside of a salvage yard.

The gal we work with just bought both a Tracker and a Lumina van. Dear god, what a piece of crap that thing is. Granted, I am a Previa guy, but WTH!??

They literally stuffed a Lumina into a dust-buster shaped van shell. The hood stuff is even all under the dash! It is clearly a car with a crude shell passed on to it. It's already got a leaking heater core, and has broken down in my driveway for other reasons. I got shut in the power sliding door the other day.
What a disappointment they were. I desperately wanted them to be cool. The ergonomics are nearly as terrible as the visibility and they handle like a VW bus stuck on a Ford Grenada... um, wait like a VW bus stuck on a LUMINA.
Their interior storage space is roughly equivalent to a slightly longer Tercel tall-boy wagon. Ugh. Useless.
You need *special funnels to top off the fluids because they are buried so close to the bottom of the dash*!!!!

Since she bought this low-mileage (!) turkey, we have referred to by several names:

Screwm-ina
Lie-mina
Dustbuster
Crustbuster
Lemon-a
Crude-mina
D**o-van
Suck-o-ette

I can't remember the rest.

Makes me like mine even more!

I had an Axtek too. Bought it used from a rental car company. So ugly resale value tanked and made it a sweet deal. Kept it a few years and traded it in, not a bad vehicle, had no trouble with it. The evil-ex wanted a Toyota Matrix.....I got a clone to it, a Pontiac Vibe.

The Lumina mini van we had was the most hideous piece I have ever seen. Can I stop right there?
