Hi guys, hopefully USDM cars came with central locking because if they didn't I might be a bit screwed here... This started recently and it seems to be getting worse most times I use the car. What happens is I put the key in the door, unlock the car, get in and close the door, the door locks then clunk repeatedly. The doors aren't locking and unlocking, they are just trying to unlock repeatedly, imagine you turn the key to unlock the door then turn the key the same way again; the motors move but obviously nothing happens because the door is already unlocked, that's what it's doing. It doesn't seem to do it unprovoked as it hasn't unlocked itself while I've been away from it (PHEW!) Is this a known issue? My initial thoughts are maybe a bad ground but thought I would ask here before taking things apart. Edited by ScotSwift, Jun 9 2015, 06:36 PM.

You might be a bit screwed here. We never got anything so incredibly advanced in the States. My first guess would be the switch itself on the door lock. That would require taking the door liner off to get at the back of the lock mechanism. Edited by Woodie, Jun 10 2015, 06:13 AM.

It's probably either in your LF switch since that controls all the locks or in the module itself . I know that's not much help, but the FSM functional check for the newer Metro systems that work like yours doesn't cover your scenario. It's pretty much a "this switch does or doesn't do this, then on to the next switch.." sort of functional check and nothing shows possible causes of "the unlock command won;t stop..." I would tend to look at the switch itself first for sticking - our Sonata has stated occasional acting up with the window switches where I believe the LF may be overriding the other(s) and we have to cycle it/them before it works normally again. Good luck! |

I haven't checked it out yet but the problem has gotten worse, it has gotten to the point where 9.9 times out of ten turning the key in the drivers door doesn't open the passenger door! |

You could always be a gentlemen and open the passenger door, if it's for the ladies of course, otherwise don't worry about it..😎 |
