Old Man

Had two heart attacks. spent a couple weeks in the hosp each time. that was 25 years ago when I was only 50 years old. Still affects me. I can jump out of my pickup--(in handicap parking)-- walk into Home Depot and it looks like an old man trying to trot. but by the time I get to the battery chairs I have to sit in one for at least 5 minutes to catch my breath.-----At the same time, 5 minutes later by the shovels don't dis me. cause if you do you just might find a 75 year old man sneaking up behind you with a hell of a blow with a shovel.

now if that aint enough I also have have two strokes. Took a lot of determination but I can walk into the store and you would never know, but I know and can barely make it sometimes.

Still not enough? Asbestosis from the fire rooms of US Navy ship where I served for years so that you can bitch. Along with Agent Orange doing what my government said was necessary-- and I end up with only 20% of my lungs working. You cant see the disability but I can surely feel it.

Extremely High blood pressure -- probably my own fault for smoking for 50 years, still it affects my mobility and you cant see it.

Over weight? Yeah, I went from 145 pounds and finally leveled out at 185 when I came down with diabetes. You cant see it but I can feel it.

Don't be so quick to judge. Walk in anothers shoes before you pronounce sentence.

EDIT: BTW, I REALLY don't give a shit what the fuck you think.--

What has me scratching my head about this video is WHERE IS THE WALMART SECURITY or how about some MALE bystanders taking some sort of action. Dang, is there that much of a complacency on the part of our society that we will never intervene in this kind of action to keep folks from hurting each other or at least keep the kiddo from seeing his mom do bad things to another person.

Guess nobody wanted to get caught up in the law suits that were sure to follow. Can't get caught doing something courageous while on video, huh?

Seems like you enjoy instigation fights in here

I mulled over just letting this go but I came to the conclusion that if I didn't at least address it someone could read it and just assume it's true. You actually have it completely backwards Ace. The first thing to consider is the this is the lounge where discussions and light debate are allowed. Heated exchanges are against the rules and I don't think anyone reading this would think it was heated.

My posts are not to instigate a fight, they are to instigate a thought. As Coche noted, I will play devils advocate, so to speak, when I see a conversation (that I may agree with at least in part) that seems to just ignore the opposing view when there are valid parts to that sides argument as well. I will also post when someone seems to be advocating treating their fellow man in such a way that is well beyond what society would deem acceptable (this applies to your statement about how you drive your truck). My reasons for doing this aren't nefarious or to rile people up or to even start an argument. Instead, I'm trying to prevent the group mind from getting too carried away in a chest beating display. In any insular group (this is one) it is easy to get wrapped up in the shared beliefs and beat the drums and convince ourselves that the extreme views are actually reasonable.

As an example that will resonate with a good number here, take the NRA. Good group with good goals. Protecting our right to hunt and have weapons etc. is a positive thing. Of course limiting access to guns and weapons to people who are mentally stable and have no plans to kill someone in the near future and who have been properly trained is also a good idea, one that the NRA used to support. Unfortunately, as an insular group they have gathered around and beat their chests and their drums and have convinced themselves that every attempt to limit their access to guns or the speed with which they can acquire them is just the first step in the stairs that lead to us all being slaves to the state. This is not to say that that isn't the plan of some on the other side of the issue, it's to point out that the reasoned approach is to accept the limitations that have a real safety benefit and make a stand when the cost is too high instead of making a stand before the discussion even begins. The politics of this nation seem to have fallen into this trap as well. If something is bad just because the other side proposed it, whatever that side is, you probably need to step away from the group mind and actually listen to the opposing view. Chances are there are valid points that can be agreed upon.

So Ace, I apologize for making you angry, it wasn't my intent. I'm not an "in your face" kinda guy and you are certainly welcome at any event I'm involved in or attending. I haven't attacked you here, and I wouldn't attack you in person. All I was doing was asking you to think about what you were saying.

Metro on,
MMM

I was thinking mud. But then again, the big one didn't look like she would be cute all lubed up.

This video is nothing more than mindless drivel thrown to the masses so our collective conscientiousness will be pulled away from what is really important. The influx of illegals, the dumbing down of our youth via youtube and hand held phones, and the absolute lack of accountability of our elected officials to keep this country safe.

We are so far past getting our country back on track that everybody needs to procure seat belts so they will be able to withstand the upcoming bumpy ride.

I wonder if this type of nonsense goes on in third world grocery marts?

No I don't think you got the notion of my anger Metromightymouse. I'm pissed at those folks that I see that walk out with a pep in their step out of their car !
(1) I can tell when someone truly needs it ( but we won't go into the details of that).
If you are overweight or fat from diabetes and I can tell you are having a hard time moving , then by all means take the buggy and the space, If your face is squinting as you take a few steps , then by all means take the buggy and the space ! if you are old with a cane TAKE THE BUGGY and the space !
I'll give you an example...I went out a few weeks back and I was waiting for a parking space and this lady just pulls in and takes it , gets out and with her entire family and just moseys on her way...no-one has a cane, a limp,a wheel chair, a walker nothing !! How would you feel is you were handicapped and can't walk or have a hard time and you just witnessed this ?

So what condition do you think this lady had Metromightymouse that would merit her use of the buggy and probably the Handicap space, given the fact that we have her on video as Coche Blanco said " Opening a can of whoop ass " Obviously she can walk, stand and throw down for what looked like a few minutes.
(1) are you sure? I am not grossly overweight, I walk with purpose, most people think I have no reason for a handicapped placard. Reference the statement of notes & scratches. However, I've had a heart attack, and I keep a defibrillator in my chest. Mostly I park in the open. But some days I just can't handle a long distance walk. I can still walk briskly, just not as far. Some days I can jog 2 miles. Some days I stay home. I just don't know which day today is yet.

That being said,
Any one who can "Open a can of whoop@ss" probably doesn't need the help. But I can also tell you from experience, when anger gets in the way, all common sense and physical problems are left behind. Adrenaline is a wonderful drug. I used to run miles a day just for the rush.

Its great we have a country where those who need it have a closer spot available and not only that but motorized chair options as well. Ant it great to be in the good old USA. So if you need it use it, if you don't well you know.

One that I think is interesting is at my PnPs the handicapped space is like right in front of the entry... so you only have to walk like 10 feet to the desk to pay to get in. So once in a while I see guys who are on oxygen walking slow and they use that space but then they have to walk like 2 miles in the yard in gravel to get the part they need. So they get about 20 feet closer with the handicapped but man they walk forever inside... if you can walk for a mile to find and get parts.... why do you need to park 20 feet closer?

I am just glad I can walk okay. And if you need the spot...its great for you to have it. :thumb

Well, somebody finally got arrested. I cannot make heads or tales who got busted, whether it was the blonde or the dark haired gal.

I wonder if this will teach the ladies a lesson or if they will go on with their self absorbed lives and not think a thing of it. Time will tell.

I got into this fascination with watching liveleak for a while. This stuff is happening all around us. Our mammalian primate origins are hidden beneath the thinnest veneer.

According to the article the other woman was charged earlier so both have charges against them now.
